I have not tried this yet, but I want to give it a shot in the future. I just want to run this idea by other players to see if anyone can share any insight. Here is my idea:
1. Save up a large amount of gold, maybe 500k
2. Use a proxy (located in China or another country far away from your actual location) to log into your account and change your password, so it appears that your account has been hacked
3. Sell all your gold to a chinese company, and give them time to move it along however they do and cover their tracks
4. Turn off your proxy service and try to log into your account so your real IP address is shown
5. At Blizzard's support website, start the process of account restoration and tell them that your account got hacked and all your gold is gone
6. Blizzard's automagical restoration service adds 500k gold to your balance.
I think that Chinese gold buying companies have some ancient, mystical way of laundering gold so that it can't be tracked, so they'll be fine; or they won't, but China is already hacking the shit out my country's businesses, so I don't care. If anyone knows any specifics about how this would affect other people down the line, please let me know.
This could possibly flag the account, so it's a risky behavior, but I think the benefit would be worth it. Maybe not.
Has anyone tried this, or know anything useful about the subject? Thanks in advance.
