Keeping Faction-specific items when changing faction

I have for long been tempted in changing the faction, though there's currently one question obstructing me:

Is there possibly a way of bypassing the check and conversion in to the other faction's items when changing your faction, and keeping them in their previous state? They are currently the "Binds when Picked up" gear from Trial of the Crusader.

ToC gear will be converted to the Alliance counterpart if you change faction from Horde and vice-versa.

what about deleting it then restoring it after faction change?

There is no way since you can't equip it even if you find a way.
