I sell gold on my server. This is kind of bias but it's to protect me. If I get an email that is broken English, I don't bother. Also, I google the email address. A LOT of times they (Scammers) are posted on other forums about scamming people. I have successful found 5-6 scammers already just googling the email address that contacts me. The people who are legit buyers, they have been all perfect english paragraphs and were a little more personal than "i want gold u have for sell, skype me i buy all ok bye."

You can also ask them for their paypal address up front so you can do some research first. The scammers are ALWAYS impatient and nerveous. It's pretty easy for me to identify them now. Sometimes, If I am on the fence about someone I just pass on them. This isn't my primary career so losing a potential sale doesn't bother me. It's risk vs. reward.
All you need is ONE legit buyer, from that point establish a GOOD relationship with that person. Offer him a reward for referring friends to you. My first buyer is getting a cut for every 10k I sell to his referrals.

Paypal is not safe. Sellers have absolutely no protection, buyer has all the say in it. I have been scammed by selling an item on ebay and that was the last time I ever used paypal. See here PayPal - Horror Stories, Lawsuits, Reviews, PayPal Problems for horror stories. Paypal only has buyer protection which is widely abused by the *******s of the world.

I suggest bitcoin Bitcoin - Open source P2P digital currency - no chargebacks, every transaction is verified, and payments arrive within one hour. Nobody can scam you or submit a claim, it is a decentralized currency, nobody holds power of anyone.

first of all if he sent money as gift - he can only open like unauthorized payment. it means that it was not him paying money. in 90% cases they cant win\chargeback money due to they are noobs, but It seems to me, that he knew what he is doing, but lets hope he is in that 10%.dont worry and reply to paypal with all information needed + maybe repost or

    1. everytime ask buyers to put comment to paypal payment as: this ****** (nickname) buying my wow gold from this server ***** and this ammount of gold *****.
    2. if you dont trust or you have new buyer - ask him to write an email from his mail paypal email with some text to your email (like him paypal email->your email) some message
it will protect you against hacked paypal accounts and stuff. like 50% of success selling.
    2. make screenshots of trading gold ingame - so you will have proofs , that you have sold him gold
    3. if claim\dispute is open - tell to paypal that you were selling ingame currency - digital product and buyer recieved it in fully way.
    4. and ofc follow steps of guys have told here

    this will protect you
ps: just from my life experience=)

    This was helpfull tyvm

It explains how to tell the differences among a gift or normal payment.

When someone add you on skype or any messenger try Google their skype ID (not the name). IF he is a scammer and you are not his first victim you will find for sure him blacklisted on varios MMO selling sites and forums.
If you don't find any scammed people by him or one of his users banned on forums then proceed to step 2, ask them to post on OwnedCore or on the forum you are trading, and check carefully their started threads and posts and if anything smells bad like many people saying he is not safe ect try avoid .

The next step will be the "tempting option". Usually most of scammers are idiots who will offer as much as you ask for large amounts of golds without negotiate at all or just a little. If you are dealing with such person i strongly suggest to not deal.

Another thing you may look is the number of the person contacts, by pressing "view Profile" on his skype name not only you can see his skype ID but also the number of contacts he have, and lets be honest most of the people have at least 20-30 people. If the dude have 1-5 contacts obviously is a possible scammer making more and more new skype ID's since his main skype or past skype addresses are already on the forums ^^
There is a way to hide such detail but if someone hide this he do it maybe for this reason and then it may be a smart scammer. Also if he is "smart" he will first add 20-30-40 contacts b4 he start attempt to scamm people, but again we speak about "smart thiefes" and most of them will not do this since like i said they are or to lazy to do that or to morons.

Remember scammers can claim unauthorized transaction even in the Gift case, but the risk is maybe lower. To have some chances against "unauthorized transactions claims" send the buyer an e-mail and ask him to confirm his real name, his PP account, his mail address and the fact he decided to Gift you that amount of money and he will not charge back them at any moment or for any reasons.
If the guy you are dealing with have some good rep or positive feedback score he may actually think you are the scammer if you proceed like this so carefully who you ask this, so just verify the mail but don't ask for all steps in these cases.
I don't know how much this will raise your chances in a unfortunately dispute, but for sure it will scare most of the scammers to deal with you since once again i repeat this "most of them are thanks to God idiots or scared f...s"
Also keep mind even if this method with mail verification wont help, many scammers may use stolen PayPal accounts and they may have the PP but not the mail yet. At least you will avoid those kind of attempts ...

To stay away from even more troubles mail verification is recommended but not so necessary as PP even on MB, if we talk about huge amounts and those buyers have low rep/feedback (depending on forums).

These methods will not make you stay on the safe barricade 100 % but at least you will greatly reduce the risks.
I hope my guide could help you a little my friend, i really wish you GL with this because luck is also involved when you try to find costumers, and remember "be smart, trade safe" .
