Question regarding ban due to botting

    Hi.
I've managed to avoid getting banned so far (except for one 2 day ban due to memory editing).
I'm wondering, what is the punishment for botting? Perm ban without warning?
If it makes any difference, I'm fish botting only, but I'm doing it on three accounts under the same battlenet account at once, on the same computer, so if they ever look me up, it's gonna be real obvious.

It's really likely to depend on the guy reviewing the case.
Recently though, there have been perma ban on first offences being handed out, from what I've seen on forums, so I would excercise caution, probably best to lay low for awhile since patch just hit, but thats just my 2c.

    Hey there gensmeta!
It is true that there has been some instant perma bans, but those cases are very rare.
    The procedure goes like this:
They catch you botting, account closed, waiting for review (could take some time, depending how overwhelmed the ban tribunal is)
If they find you are guilty, you get a 48h ban
After that you can appeal in order to maybe cancel the ban
After the ban expires and they catch you again same process is taken, but replace the 48h ban with perma ban.

Basically if you get the first ban you should sell that account and buy a new one

    Regards

Ok. Thanks for the replies. Next question: How are botters typically detected?
If warden does not recognize the bot instantly, do the GMs scan for suspicious behavior on the servers, or do they rely on people to report?

Basically they rely on their Wardens and Player Reports, if a player reports you GM will watch your behavior and probably will teleport to some place where your bot would get stuck and begin its funny unstuck method. GM record that and sends the video to the ban tribunal; although this isn't confirmed it's probably the way its done.

Yes it doesn't affect other accounts if you didn't trade mats/gold from your bot account to your main account, but if you did, both accounts will get banned
