    Scammed Account

I scammed this guys account and he is threating to file legal actions against me for this.

All I did was change his e-mail.

Here is the e-mail he just left me.

" Due to the nature of this exploit/violation of Blizzard EULA and it dealing and pertaining to a US bonded Bank Credit Card, I will be filing legal actions against you, A subpeona has been sent to Hotmail to obtain your IP address and my states Cybercrime department has volunteered to take this case. You have commited Fraud and I will pursue you till this is finished and make sure you get the maximum fine and conviction. If you do not return all information to me regarding my account I will not only purse criminal conviction but civil punishment as well."

Should I do what he asks me. Or ignore him and just not even mess with his account anymore.

I'm only 17 years old so I am not sure what he can do to me. Or if he is even really filing a report against me.

Any real adivce would be great. This is the first time I have been in a situation like this.

    Thank you.

    Re: Scammed Account

1st. hacking an account is only against eula if 3rd party program is involved i think
2nd. how is he goin to get your personal details?
3rd. why would this guy go to so much hassle over a virtual game (don't awnser i may now the awnser already)
4th. i doubt any lawyer/attorney/soliciter would do this cheap :P

but if all this does happen, you'll be trialed as an adult (in england anyway)

    Re: Scammed Account

I am in the United States.

He says he has been in Law Enforcement for many years and that he will do whatever it takes to put me in jail.

I hope I can calm this guy down.

    Re: Scammed Account

well i know for a fact that here where i live (in denmark) you aren't able to sue people for such things...
oh and by the way hotmail aren't allowed to just give your IP to everyone only if he has a very good case and are on the right side of the law which i highly doubt

    Re: Scammed Account

I told him everything that I know.

I think someone else got his information also.

He is saying that his password was changed, etc. Which I never did.

I told him to wait until Monday and just ask blizz to freeze his account.

I'm just going to ignore his e-mails now for my own safety.

    Thanks for all the responses.

I canceled my e-mail that I scamed him with. I am just hoping this all goes away.

If I end up having to go to court. So be it, i'll be ready.

Probally not even worth that much.

He has had the account since 2004 though. So I can see that he is very pissed.

All he had a 1 level 70 warlock in blues and about 500 lowbie alts.

so obviously scare tactics, if he doesn't now who you are he can't find out, cannot obtain customer information (from blizz, hotmail or whatever) without having an official warrant, and tbh i don't think many judges would care (espescially without evidence... ffs he doesn't now you (can't emphasize that enough))

Lol i'm only 15 yet i know more about law then the guy who's tryin to sue you xD

    Where's your GM now?

This is the first time this has every happend to me.

So I think you can understand why I crapped my pants. But now after calming down and actually reading and understanding what he said.

He is just trying to bullshit me. I understand that now.

I feel much more relaxed now.

    Re: Scammed Account

haha, yea nothing can happen scamming peoples accounts. me and a couple of scammers where on vent the other day and they asked couldnt they sue you or something and the reason why they cant it.

    1. They don't own it in the first place, they are "Renting" it from blizzard.
    2. If you scammed it from them while they were trying to sell it or trade it. Thats against the rules, and there account will get banned if they called blizz and said my account was hacked while i was selling it.
    3. Internet stuff is just "Air" it doesn't really exist in the world. So how can you steal something that isn't there in the first place?

Also i use a Hide IP, so when i scam, my ip is in China.
I'll tell you where you might be, you might be in the room you die in. Live or die, make your choice.
