Using WoW unmerged account as main account

I recently bought an unmerged account. Do you think it is safe to use it as main account? What if I get banned, how can I recover the account?

As of the introduction to battle.net, getting banned requires the battle.net account holders ID as opposed to the licenses. Occasionally they may compare the names, however. If they do, you're skrewed.
