Blizzard Has Sued Honorbuddy

Honorbuddy is the ultimate WoW bot offering questing, dungeons, PVP, Gathering and Archaeology Support. By using a nav mesh to move smoothly and by doing quests, it allows the botter to blend into the crowd of WoW players and thus greatly reducing the risk of bans due to player reports.

On Monday July 11 2011, Blizzard filed a lawsuit against us in Hamburg, Germany. We set up this firm in Germany on the basis that we are pursuing a legitimate business opportunity in a lawful manner under German law. Our lawyer advises us that is still the case. We will carry on providing the products that you have purchased. Honorbuddy and Gatherbuddy will carry on working. However, we will make a change for new orders and and we will be asking for your support.

To prevent any risk of misleading potential customers, we will no longer be selling Buddy Lifetime. We are moving to a keys system that enables you to buy for 1 day, one month or 1 year and you get a discount for taking more than 1 session. We are no longer charging for use of flying mounts - if you have an existing HB key, flying mounts are now supported for free. I can imagine this going on for many year's if the dev's decide to fight the case, but with the lack of wow content update's and with so many veteran player's leaving wow, i can see blizzard losing alot of pocket change if they win the case due to HB/GB having a massive user-base and there sub's will drop ALOT since not many people will jump on another bot with nothing comparing with HB/GB, the only small good thing if the bot get's taking down would be the the gold market prices might increase by 0.01% then drop the same day by 50% because of many people offloading there gold earn's lol

No worries HB/GB, we got your back, even if you lose that case, the mmowned community is ready to take this buisness up to a secret level. You can make a system only working if you have been refered by a moderator from mmonwed, and do this with all the exploit/botting websides working. ONLY If your refered you can have acces to a certain page. If this can be kept under control, you will be able to still exist, but with of cause only a certain amount of subscribers

as ive previously said, this is why i refuse to bot.

they had a good run and forwarded the tech for hacking wow. while i personaly disagree with botting BGs and farming (Level botting is fine, the game is worthless until you get to max level anyways) i do wish them luck in there fight.

also, lol @ American companies thinking they can sue German companies under US law. good luck with that.

Honestly I don't see how they can turn this into their favor. It's clear they're violating the terms of use, which states that third party program usage is illegal, and that's all the judge and jury will hear out of Blizzard.

But it is an American company suing a German one, so I'm completely confused as to which court system will be in use.

Terms of Use just means blizzard can terminate honorbuddy's accounts. :P That isn't grounds for lawsuit. If it is anything like glider, they will try to get them for circumventing warden (DMCA circumventing protection something or other, i forget the term used... it was mumbojumbo twisted to 'win' the case iirc).

so just because we put in "all members must give us 200USD a month. We can claim these USD at any time - If our demands are not met then it will be considered Illegal." in our ToA it means that you have to do it?
