How to make an NPC walk backwards (as in with the backwards animation)?

Is it possible to make and npc walk backward through waypoints instead of walking forward through them? - As in somehow setting the npc walk state to backwards maybe?

This should be in emulation questions + requests, not here.

However, this is not possible as far as I am aware. You could experiment with the emote for walking backwards (456) and playing it upon each waypoint, but I doubt that would work. You could play the animation to part way through then freeze the animation, however that will not achieve your walking backwards effect.
