    Decrease Latency

    Hey guys!

I am not sure if this is the right section or not, but here goes.

This is a registry fix, that removes the TCP delay, which results in things such as lower latency and faster internet browsing.
It applies to everything using the TCP protocol, I have not yet encountered a downside to this, and setting it up is not all that difficult

Took off about 200ms on retail for me

Also below are some more tweeks

To get low pings with 2 simple registry hacks do the following (you need to do both settings for the maximum effect)

1 - TcpAckFrequency - NOTE if you are running Windows Vista this setting may not have any effect

Type "regedit" in windows "run.." dialog to bring up registry menu

    Then find:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces \

There will be multiple NIC interfaces listed in there, find the one you use to connect to the internet, there will be several interfaces listed (they have long names like {7DBA6DCA-FFE8-4002-A28F-4D2B57AE8383}. Click each one, the right one will have lots of settings in it and you will see your machines IP address listed there somewhere. Right-click in the right hand pane and add a new DWORD value, name it TcpAckFrequency, then right click the entry and click Modify and assign a value of 1.

you can change it back to 2 (default) at a later stage if it affects your other TCP application performance. it tells windows how many TCP packets to wait before sending ACK. if the value is 1, windows will send ACK every time it receives a TCP package.

Note that disabling TCP Window autotunning limits the TCP Window to 65535, which may not be adequate for faster broadband internet connections.

To disable TCP/IP autotunning, in "Elevated" Command Prompt type:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled

To verify that it is dsabled:

    netsh interface tcp show global

To set back to the default Windows Vista behavior:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuningl=normal

Note: To get elevated command prompt (admin priviledges), you may need to do the following:
    - Click the Start button
    - In the Search box, type: Command Prompt
    - Right-click on the Command Prompt icon and select "Run as administrator"

To enable CTCP, in elevated command prompt type:

netsh int tcp set global congestionprovider=ctcp

    To disable CTCP:

netsh int tcp set global congestionprovider=none
