Boosting with your faction leader

Queue up for one of the Elemental Invasion -event bosses. Get the quest off the leader NPC when you're inside.
Kill the boss like normally and wait for others to leave, then invite someone you want to boost.
The faction leader will help you in the instance.

The NPC chooses the one he will follow quite randomly from what I've seen.

Not sure how far it will follow you, I just ran around a few rooms in BRD. Jumped down to the Dark Iron anvil and somehow Garrosh found his way down there too after waiting a moment.
