Getting asked to send image of ID after purchasing wow cdkey on Randyrun.com

Okay, so I decided to buy a couple of cdkeys from Randyrun.com today.

I payed and everything went fine, but then i recieved an email from Randyrun.com saying:

Dear Sir/Mdm,

Thank you for your recent purchase with randyrun.com. As a safety
procedure to protect our clients, we would require some additional
information to verify your order.

To assist us in our verification, could you scan and or email us a copy
of the below:

1) A copy of your identification card or passport (That has your name
xxxx on it)

We appreciate your patience in this verification process. We will send
out the order once we received sufficient information to clear the order.

Please also note that this is only a one-time verification process and
we thank you for your patience in this matter.

You can send in a invoice or bill containing your name.

Once you done that, we will follow up with a phone verification to ensure your number is vaild.

I looked in my at my bank balance and the 40$ has already been drawn from my card.

Why would they need me to send a copy of my ID to them?
I really don't like the thought of sending my ID to some random company through email.

Is this a common procedure?
Anyone have some experience with Randyrun.com?

Hey, try an look at the gold seller reviews, should be helpful, and posting this there would be a better idea as well. To be honest i wouldnt trust giving my id to a company as well as my credit card info. that is just asking for trouble. i would suggest calling your Bank and having them reverse the payment, then go ahead and use off-gamers, or a more trusted site.

Offgamer is the best and secure and the cheapest company ever.
on your first purchase they will ask only for you phone number and an "robot" will call you and say numbers after you write the numbers talk with them at the live support and TA DA you got all the cd-keys.

I sent an email to Randyrun and asked them to refund my money since I've not gotten my products yet. Still awaiting reply.

Roffi, i never heard bout Randyrun actually but I'm kinda like the services from offgamers. everytime no matter i purchase points or gold from there i could get instant guide from their 24/7 customer support when i have inquiries.. and one more, i dun need to give any reveal any too private details on my own and i get the product instantly in to my account. Very good service though.. u should try there and maybe they can give u better and more accurate services. =)
