    Cataclysm Water Bug...

So for some reason I have noticed that there isn't a whole lot of discussion going on about this huge graphical bug happening in World of Warcraft. For some reason on most machines the water seems to be loading without reflections, ripples, waves... I cannot tell whether or not this is a DX9, DX10, DX10.1, DX11, OpenGL2.1, or OpenGL3.0 Bug... I have not found enough information to point me in one direction or the other... Here are two youtube videos that blatantly show the difference...

    With Ripples/Reflections/Waves:

    W/out Ripples/Reflections/waves:

I have read somewhere that it all depends on your graphics card... There are three settings for water in cataclysm... Low, Medium, High... What I have been told is that even if you switch on "high" you will only experience the full water effect if you have a GTX295 or Radeon 4970+.... I cannot verify this or not but if anyone could fill in more detail that would be amazing!

Yeah, a lot of the textures/models have been changed in Cataclysm. The water detail is simply astonishing. As well as the trees, fire, etc.

I haven't experienced any problems with the water so far. I'm using DX9 (still using WinXP), and have GeForce 9800 GTX Black Edition graphics card. I used some console commands to tune everything to the maximum. Couldn't do that in the standard video options menu.

In the first video, that's not water its more of an experimental liquid thats in deephome. That's why it's different.

Of what i have heard it is a bug and has nothing to do with your computer.
The maximum water effect can be seen in Deepholm and at one area in Twilight Highlands.
I am pretty sure they are going to make it look similar everywhere in the world.

I can confirm this as on my server when i visited deepholme, the liquid there looked like the video at the top, yet everywhere else looked like it did in the video below.

Could just be because the videos are in totally different settings. Video 1 is set in a dark environment and the water is murkier so it would naturally be more reflective. where as video 2 is set at the beach where the water is more clear and the sun would make the water less reflective. This is just a theory but then again it is alpha cata...
