How did this happen?

My brother gave up WoW a little while ago and he gave me his account, and I went on his level 71, and he has 450 mining. How is this possible? I tried to even get to the places that would have 450 mining and I either can't get there or I die in a few seconds from monsters..

He doesn't have cold weather flying, so i don't understand how it was possible. could someone tell me? Thanks.

Maybe he just farmed a vein, died, farmed etc, you can get to 450 even as 1 (IF you could train the ability at that level that is) without hacks.

there were a few mining exlpoits that involoved quest items if i recall correctly. maybe thats how

Lock summons, DK duel gripping, exploration. Buy ore and smelt+some mining

Find a node and camp it for each respawn. It really just depends on how hard a person wants it =\
