    [email protected]? - scam?

Heya. I just got -two- emails from [email protected] that asks for, but not limited to, passwords, account names, secret question answers, email addresses, things like that. Now I've been told numerous times by the actual account admins that they never ask for my password or CD-key, but in this email it says I'm under investigation and if I don't provide the info they'll assume that the account was sold/traded and will perma ban me for life. Now I should know if this is a scam or not, but having dealt with these issues before I'm not so certain now.

Anyone able to shed some light on this gloomy rather depressing situation? Oh and I'm terribly sorry if this is in the wrong sub forum.

They use a email program that says that it is from that email address when it really is not. DO NOT give them your password.

They use a thing called a e-mail spoofer which Obama stated above, do not give information to them.

Of course it is, Do not get tricked! It's a phishing scam. Just report it to blizzard and give them the source. Their domain that they used to email if it was their own domain, it'll get shut down.

I wasn't planning on it, I actually just put in a ticket about this in game so I'm not so worried about losing my account, rather I wish I knew who was responsible =P but alas, blizzard rarely takes class actions against these people. Thanks for the reassurance though~!

I think it says in game that Blizz will never ask for your password.. just for future reference. So yes, of course it's a scam.
