Max gold on account before ban (w/o 80)?

What's the maximum amount of gold you've had on a WoW account without it getting banned, if it has no high level characters?

I know an account that looks like a regular player with a level 60-80 can have even 100000g or more no problem, but I've never yet tried putting more than 18000-19000 gold onto an account with all-lowbie characters (none above level 10, used for gold transfers for selling gold).

Has someone else? Has anybody had 30000 or 50000 gold on a similar account, and what happened?

(It's really hard to find out critical information like this needed to know how to sell gold without getting banned; I expect the account to be banned after selling, as usual, but it'd be a disaster if it was banned in advance of selling because something flagged it for a GM to glance at).

I guess a better question would be: Have you ever heard of anybody getting banned for simply having that much gold on an account? As far as I know you aren't breaking any ToS rules.

just create a bank guild and put your gold in a guild bank. have another account with totally different emails and such so just incase you do get banned, that secret account still has access to the guild vault and you still ahve the gold

That's a valid argument, although "exploitation of the economy" seems vague enough to justify almost anything potentially.

One of the gold selling company websites said that Blizzard bans mule accounts with more than a certain amount of gold (presumably possibly in the region of either tens or hundreds of thousands of gold on an account with no high-level characters). A bunch of level 1s, 2s, or the like with huge amounts of gold on multiple realms with no regular play would be pretty obvious in theory. Whether or not they were truthful or just making up an excuse for having slower gold delivery than their competitors, I don't know.

I was hoping, though, that someone here would have sometime put more than my under 20k gold on an account with only lowbie characters, thus more testing the situation.

Probably a good suggestion, though do people know from experience (not just theory) how much Blizzard looks at associated guild banks when banning an account? The kind of guild I could create wouldn't look like a regular guild on a 1 minute inspection, as, while I could get random high-level characters to sign the charter by paying them a few gold, the characters with full guild bank access could only be my gold-trading-account lowbies.

I once sold gold to a Chinese company, transferring only by guild bank, and then several days later my account was banned, with my guess being that the company did something sloppy with one of their accounts, causing GM attention, and then a Blizzard GM followed back the trail of who deposited thousands of gold into that gold farmer guild bank.

If I were Blizzard, if I banned an obvious gold-farmer-trader account that just recently, say, deposited 30000 gold into a guild bank, I'd delete that gold from the guild bank afterward. Of course, Blizzard may or may not actually do that unless someone has experience to indicate what happens.

Article Detail - World of Warcraft News - QJ.NET

Believe it or not, Dorgabas of Illidan server was able to reach the maximum amount of gold and posted it on the official U.S. forums.

Dorgabas found out that the gold cap was at 214,748 gold, 2 silver, and 89 copper.
Lifeblood of Spinebreaker server posted that the gold cap made perfect sense. Since the maximum limit is 2 to the power of 31, it is a signed int32 - a type of coding used by most developers. All in all, the total amount is plus or minus 2,147,483,647 copper.
