Blizzard vs Private Servers

I just want to start this topic because it really has been bothering me.

My Opinion:

Blizzard never took action against Private Servers.

Reasons:

-There were many error's in "Blizzards" letter
-The private servers that were sent this "letter" are still up, just at a new site
-Blizzard cant take action against the private server if it doesnt spend money outside the server itself

Seriously I think it was Eternion or World of Chris prank, that obviously worked.

Anyway discuss, i would really like to hear your take on this matter, since it was never fully discussed just everyone pointing fingers.

But yeah it doesn't really matter if they did or not. Just get your server hosted in a third-world country and your immune!

Private servers will always live on until World of Warcraft Dies (which won't be soon) Because someone will always know how to make a core and compile..Dedicated hosts and hosting towers will always be there because...That's just what people do.

By the way, Blizzard is the only MMO that has monthly payments. YES, WoW is the biggest MMO in the world, bla bla bla, but, monthly payments are nonsense, that's why the private servers exists. If Blizzard truly want to extinguish the private servers, they need to make WoW free of monthly payment. And don't bother to tell me they have no money, they have more money then some country, can be the richest gaming company even without these month subscriptions. But, why do I care, I just defend private servers, have nothing against Blizzard, I have money to pay, just it is so annoying going to town every month to buy those shitty gamecards and I'm sorry about those guys who don't have money. That's why I don't think Blizzard will ever shutdown private server, the only way is to make WoW free. AND THAT'S THE GOD DAMM TRUE!!! :

WoW is not the only pay to play game out there.
WoW is a business model that exists to make a profit, why would they suddenly decide to not make money. Private servers are an opportunity cost, but they're not going to go on some crusade to stamp them all out because that would cost them more money than its worth.
As for payment options, you can always pay electronically and "those who don't have money" is an utter joke.
WoW is one of the the cheapest time sink and entertainment there is. Going out to a bar, or dinner with a girl can cost way over $100 a night. You spend like 50 cents an entire day for a video game.

i played on private servers too see what the game is like, i did end up buying it, but private servers are like gold sellers in-game, there here too stay, blizzard wont do a thing.
