I was browsing around the interweb and come over this, not written by me, fully copy pasted Q and A from a keylogger himself. And I thought it would be a nice read for ppl (atleast I enjoyed reading it, increasing my knowledge of the person behind it and how he/she think/acts)

anyways, here it is

1. Why do you keylog?

A: Because it's easy money. I'm in the account, i take your gold, i sell it, I'm on my way.

2. Don't you feel bad about it?

A: No, it's like i said. I'm in and out of your account. Many of you may think this makes me a horrible person, but it doesnt entirely. For the most part, everything i do can be undone with a ticket and a phone call or two. At the end of the day, i have extra money in my wallet and my victims are inconvienced at worst.

3. How many accounts do you get a day/week/year?

A: Depends on how stupid America is feeling when i post my lumberjacks.

4. How can i protect my account?

And this is probably what seperates me from those people selling your accounts on various websites. Usually, when i log onto someone's account, i raise some awareness in the process. Just a few days ago, i logged onto someone with 3 80s and other stuff. Active pvper, got them on these forums. At first i started scaring him by speaking some phrases in chinese, but then i cut the crap and helped him and his guildies out. I told the guy how to prevent this from happening again, how to get the gold that i was taking back + his account, and i told him a bit about the process that prevents gold stealers from getting caught.

HERE IT IS

Victim sends gold to Char1. Char1 sends gold to char2, then is deleted before char2 is logged on. Char2 receives gold from Unknown.

That's why the guys taking your stuff havent been caught, people.


Anyway, the best thing you can do is get an authenticator.

5. What about copying and pasting my password from notepad?

Forget that copy and paste your password bullshit, the good keyloggers KNOW what you're copying and pasting. Hell, the good ones take screenshots.

6. Lololol firefox saved passwords

The good keyloggers also take the file with your saved firefox passwords and users, then uploads them to a FTP server and sends them to the lumberjack on your keyboard.

7. Lololol noscript

This helps you out, but other keyloggers ask for user confirmation, meaning you have to be caught in a stupid moment. Which, for some, is every waking moment.

8. Battlenet merging?

It gives the hacker less time on your account than an un-merged account that has been recently merged to a battlenet, so it does help a little bit. Until you're logging into the battle.net main page(which doesnt let you auto enter saved passwords) and the keylogger then knows all he needs to.

9. YOUR EMAIL AND YOUR WOW ACCOUNT NEED DIFFERENT PASSWORDS

Yeah, its bad when all i need to get into your wow account and change your password (which gives me ample time to rob you blind)
is a username and a single password. Come on guys, banana123 and banana132 can be the difference between you losing some gold or you seeing your WoW account on ebay.

10. Can you hack me if i have an authenticator?

No. But, i will screw you over worse than people without them(personally). Something about people thinking that they're safe to click whatever the samhell they want because they added an authenticator to their account just makes me want to get them forum banned, and use their email accounts to send keyloggers to all their friends. I act on this.

11. If im sharing an account, will you hack him too?

Yes.

12. If im an officer or guild master, will you rob my guild?

No. I will raid your guild, get you blacklisted on the server, maybe get your friends list to think you're a douche, until you have to server transfer and start all over. If you're an officer or a guild master, its your responsibility to not be stupid enough to make the dumb decision to share your account information, or click on keyloggers. Get an authenticator already.

13. Why are you posting this?

Because i like to inform.

14. Why does this thread matter? I paid 4000 dollars for my anti-virus, im golden.

Guess what buddy? It only takes 40 dollars to get a keylogger that isn't detected by anti-viruses for at least the next 6 months. Better yet, it only takes 4 days to learn how to make your own.

It's a pretty good read. I don't agree with most of his views tho. The same principles can be applied into real world car stealers who "logged" where car owner parks his car etc etc...
