    Broadcast Your World of Warcraft!

    How to broadcast

In order to broadcast, you need three things:

    • Justin.tv account. This is pretty self-explanatory. If you want to broadcast on justin.tv, you need to sign up for an account. To do this, just go to Justin.tv - Live Streaming Video, and at the top, you'll see "Create Account". Just click that and follow the steps. When you're done, you might need to check your email to "Activate" your account.

    • Screen capture driver. This is a small piece of software that copies areas of your screen and turns it into a video stream. It can also compress the video to reduce the resolution.

    • Streaming program. This piece of software takes your video stream from the screen capture driver and sends the information to the Justin.tv servers for them to host.

    Contents

    Software

You'll need to download and install two pieces of software.

Click on the Download button on the left and download the latest version.

Click on Free Demo on the right hand side. Since you'll only be using the freeware version of this software, there are a few hoops you'll have to jump through to install it. There's a code you have to copy and paste from your email, but it's not too difficult to figure out.
    Config

Now on to the more interesting stuff. Open up the VH Screen Capture Config:

Click on "Create new one" to create a new driver profile. Click on the "Settings" tab. Here's an example of what mine looks like:

One thing to note, I have it set to resize the screen down to 320x240 because that's what Justin.tv broadcasts at.
Next click on the Capture tab. This is where you setup the area of your screen that you want to broadcast. Check "Track screen" and click "Select". This should bring up a red crosshair. Click and drag where on the screen you want to broadcast. As you can see, I have my entire monitor selected:

After you do this, "Track screen" might be unchecked. This is normal, so don't worry about it. When that's done, you can close the screen capture driver.
    Open up On2 Flix Live:

You might have to run this as Administrator if you're using Vista. If the VH Multi Camera Studio window pops up, you can close this since we won't be needing it.
Now before you can connect, you need to get your personal justin.tv account info from their site. Go to this link:
    Login - Justin.tv
It will require you to log in before downloading the file. Once logged in, save the file where you can easily open it. Open this file with a text editor and search for "rtmp". This is the information you will need to point your justin.tv stream to your justin.tv account.
In On2 Flix Live, fill in the "Send to server" link as "rtmp://live.justin.tv/app". In the field for Stream, fill in the information between <stream> and </stream>. This is the specific information that justin.tv needs to point your stream to your account.
    Two quick screenshots:

Once you have those two fields filled in, the last thing you need to do is select "VHScrCap" in the "Video Source" dropdown menu. You can also uncheck "Archive File" if you don't want to save your broadcast and uncheck "Audio Source" if you don't want to broadcast audio (otherwise select your audio source).
When all this is set up, press "GO!", and the broadcast should begin. Go to www.justin.tv/<username> to see your stream!

Yeah. Personally i boradcast with Xfire. It needs no additional software. Install Xfire, go to the options menu and enable a key for broadcasting, press it and you're done.

xfire will soon be making it a premium, so you gotta pay for stream,
and xfire's stream have a 50 viewer limit cap
    and shitty design.

If you wan't something REALLY worth it, all you gotta do is follow this:
    www.projectlivestream.com

Their making a new, great stream that is free and has NO view cap! and it requires even less then the xfire stream(of your computer)

ok just to be sure ..cause this concept is a little new to me.
You can broadcast live stream of in game action?
so i could give lets say my nephew,,the site address,,and then be like log on at (x-time) and watch me kick ass in Naxx an all live stream?

If this is correct by my assumption, what are the system requirments / internet speed needed to be able to do this,,,and not lag your in game play?

I tried streaming live with Ustream.tv and manycam.

Manycam sucked so I Downloaded Adobe Flash Media Live, the quality seems better... but I cant get Ustream to recognize AFML. It is supposed to since it was recommended by by Ustream.... but I get a "Failed to Recognize XML" error.

With this justin.tv thing. How is the framerate and quality?

Ustream kept disconnecting me and the framerate was set to 22 but it was actually showing it at around 5fps. It ended up not working and so I just started a web cam call through msn messenger and let a frien watch through there.

I know Xfire is really laggy too isnt it?

If anyone was watching the live streaming of the guilds doing PTR testing on MMO... what were they using? anyone know? their framerate and quality was awesome.
