In my data folder all the patch.MPQ, ezpension.MPQ there all open with notepad for some reason, so i cant edit

how do i un-do that?

press windows+e>tools>folder options>view>untick 'hide extentions for known file types'>rename the files to (name goes here).MPQ

codd, I think all you've done is set notepad as the default thing to open em. just right click one -> open with -> choose program... then pick your mpq editor and make sure you check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".
