Something has changed in Quel'thalas

Hi all, I'm new here and new to exploring in wow. I've only done a few basic easy explorations, but one of my favorites is the back area behind Stratholme, the whole Quel'thalas area. I've gone there for years just whenever I've felt sad or bored. I went there two days ago (Friday) for a while and then took a friend with me yesterday (Saturday) and something had completely changed from Friday and before. There's suddenly this strange purple light surrounding the entire night elf village area on the coast. I have never seen this here before in all the years I've come back here. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the upcoming 10.0 announcement given the hints we've been given about new questlines in Ghostlands, maybe?

It's the hidden area behind uninstanced Stratholme. This village is on the northern coastline there.

I think the sky only turns purple when you're close enough from the tower. That area has been the same for a while now
