This thread is the only allowed exception for the rule about legit explorations.

Well if you look at your map the area above the east plague lands has no name and you cant get to through normal means because it has invisble walls around it. Well using http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...-fly-hack.html ([No Memory Write] Simple Fly Hack) and a couple of bugs i know of, i managed to get through the wall and explore. the area is mostly empty and then you run across a half textured stratholme. But most of the area seems empty and wide spaces, almost like blizz is planning a kingdom there. well here is some screenies.
NOTE: when I was there, one of my bnet friends saw i was in quel'thalas, but when i opened my map, it showed stormwind. which i was in neither.

Nice, but there's an other way for which you only need offline-mode. Not far from it is a cave where you can jump underneith the map, then use the ofline mode to fly there. Although +rep for sharing.

You can also use a tiger right at the stratholme entrance. I dont have any sub ATM so I cant upload a picture.

We've always refered to this zone as "Quel'Thalas in the Exploration community. It's a fairly simple (used to be extremely simple) exploration in the uninstanced Old World that's still interesting.
Pretty sad to see that people don't even take the time to try to reach it without hacks. It's a one wall exploration outside of an instance, which means every tool is availble. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Has anyone speculated in why this zone survived the Cataclysm? Can't think of a single reason to leave it in-game when they had a chance to remove it during the revamp.

Why they were need to remove it? It's "inaccessible" zone, no one should enter there. They also leaves the alpha-Naxx on Stratholme, even after revamp. Blizzard generally do not touch that have no need to be touched.
