...but I like how you use the water to get back up into the instance... that's some good exploring right there! Is that actually the new SM with the mobs once you go back up? Seems it... which leads me to believe that they stuck this "Old SM" for the holiday event into the new SM Map ID? Someone please confirm.

I am assuming that when you do so you are actually back in the "new" SM? So does this mean that the "Old SM" and New SM are located in the same map?

I must spread my rep before giving to Dellion again.

I did some research and I got some info...
The 2 new Scarlet Monastery instances are in different MapIDs - 1001 which is called "ScarletSanctuaryArmoryAndLibrary", and 1004 which is called "ScarletMonasteryCathedralGY"... The OLD SM is in MapID 189 and is called "MonasteryInstances" so when you are in the "old SM" instance, you are actually in the real old SM instance with all the mobs. If Blizzard used new NPCs for the new SM, then you can be 100% sure that the old SM contains all the old SM stuff...

Similarly, the old Scholomance instance is still in the game! Its on MapID 289 and is called "SchoolofNecromancy". The new Scholomance is on MapID 1007 and is simply called "NewScholomance"


EDIT: Last boss is bugged because as far as I know, the spell has been changed that the old boss used to cast.

EDIT 2: I was wrong, the new two SM instances are actually in 2 different MapIDs which are 1001 and 1004, while old SM is in MapID 189 and is called "MonasteryInstances"

Dellion, +7 rep for this exploration. Now that I understand what you are doing a bit more (actually reaching old mobs from the old SM instance)... I am extremely impressed and amazed! Wicked find. Looking forward to checking this out (although I assume you need to be lv90 for the event, and I am nowhere close).

I am interested if anything came of alternative methods to entering Old SM. It is especially relevant because old SM contains best in slot items to 29 twinks.
