Hey guys,
I've worked on this for a long time and I'm glad to share some unpublished information with you. I admit
that the topic of this post isn't very clear but that's just because there seem to be so many things you
could possibly do with it.
First I'd like to introduce the main idea I had when I started this project: Wouldn't it be amazing to enter
starting zones with high level characters? This might be a quite old issue but people have not focused
enough on it in the past in my eyes. I will portray my experiences in this thread relating to the reentry
of Gilneas.
Motivation:
- Worgen questline for every class
- Unique items you usually can't get (questline)
- Exploration:
- More possibilities for Gilneas exploration (flying mounts, slowfall, engineering stuff...)
- There exists a city deep under the ground of the gilneas map which has not been explored yet (as far as I know)
- I will try to add a picture as an evidence for this found later
I will give you a short overview of what I have done to realize this issue:
I created a warlock worgen and left the starting place with level 1 using the old method. It was important to make
sure that his hearthstone inkeeper is still in instanced gilneas. I leveled him up to 42 (summoning stone ability) and
used my hs to get back. Nothing happened. Not even a short loading screen. That was quite frustrating since I leveled
him all the way up to 42! Well, then it came to my mind to force hs (using another old method). This finally worked!
My worgen was back in the starting area of gilneas, but anything was weird. It looked different. I noticed, that I was
in another phase (there are a few phases because of the questline, but I didn't finish a single quest). I wasn't able to
see npcs or other players. The summoning spell was the reason why I had to level up the warlock to 42. But now we
could not use the summoning spell since we weren't able to interact (because of the different phases we were in).
Therefore we decided to enter an unknown zone to get each other visible again (same phase). That worked.
Unfortunately we were not able to summon other players: Once they accepted the summon nothing happened.
Well, I should add: The name of the summoned person poped up for a very short time.. at least sometimes..
After a while of trying to summon people I decided to explore gilneas once again since I was in a very weird
phase (as explained). You know where the bank npc in gilneas is? There were hundreds of npcs in this phase.
Worgen and human models. The place itself did not change! It was still buggy and looked as it usually looks
(holes in the ground and stuff). I will add another picture as soon as possible.

However, I will give some more reasons why it would be amazing to find a glitch that allows you to reenter a place like Gilneas:
I decided to try to join a bg and dungeon. Normally you can't enter any other instance while being in the starting
area, but I COULD. I still can't really understand why, something deeply seem to have changed because of my
escape with level one. Now I understood: You can do much more than collected above... once you are in here with
a high level character.
- Exploitation:
- BATTLEGROUND: You can't leave a battleground after entering it
- Deserteur, + 1 person in the battleground
- This gave you invincibility in 3.x - 4.x (Mechanics have changed, need more research on it, see other threads)
- After the battleground has finished you still can't leave (but you'll be kicked in ~10min --> Back to gilneas)
- You're able to walk up every mountain during this time (see other threads)
- DUNGEON: You can't leave dungeons
In 5.0 it was like that:
- You wasn't able to leave the dungeon
- Consequently your teammates were not able to remove you from the instance.
- You were able to steal all the farm (once you were out of the group)
- The new guy who was added to the dungeon group could not enter the dungeon
(max. 5 people, 1 instance)
- You were able to queue for other dungeons or bgs once you have left the group
In 5.1 it was like that:
This is pretty weird and actually I'm totally confused about the happenings when I entered a dungeon in 5.1.
- You were not able to see other players though they were in the same instance (not even mobs)
- Consequently the instance was empty for you --> Other phase!
- You got the loot of your dungeon group (not all of it, but you were able to roll for it for example)
- See above
Unfortunately I wasn't able to do more research on it since I got to Kalimdor again... When you die in
the instance you can release your spirit and get out of it. You can enter the instance again, all this works.
You can get back to gilneas when you logout. But NEVER talk to the spirit healer once you have activated
the glitch! It will bring you back to Azeroth/kalimdor/wherever.
Every glitch to force hs I can think of has been removed. This is the reason why I can't get back to gilneas
with my worgen. I don't think that it will be a huge problem to find such a glitch for 5.1.
As you see there is much to do and I'd be glad if someone could find some time to develop new ideas.
@ Seekers of the New Era members: I decided to repost this on Ownedcore since I considered it as a great chance
for us AND for other explorers to work on this project. Why should things fall into oblivion just because too less
people know about them.
