I've found a way out that does not involve engineering at all. You'll need a mushroom chair (or a Mage with Blink) and a method of slow fall.

Nice! that will make this exploration much more accessible to non-engineers. Loved the pics, and I hope you went to the very edge of the map for the stunning skyline
