BTW, this thread is called "Random explorations", not "Random quarrels".
Sorry for my bad English. This isn't my native language.
Where the Hell is Ellion?
Unknown Side of the World
I seem to be dreaming.
I remember, 2 or 3 years ago when I posted videos, I used to get flamed (in very very harsh and extremely rude ways) that because I didn't tell how to get to the places. And now I see posts like these :
It feels kinda strange to see this here, it has to be one of the first times I see something like that in the 5-6 years I've been there. As Sauce stated, others knew of it beforehand, and made the wise decision to keep it secret given the power of the glitch. You release it, put it in exploiting forums, demonstrate it's use as being able to be used to cheat in arena and thus greatly shorten the life of the glitch. It will be fixed far sooner because of it's release. And yet you two seem to think because you 'released' this glitch that this makes you great, that you can act as if you own the place. You released a powerful glitch, yes. Does this entitle you to try and rub the fact in people's faces, to act as if you 'own' it? No.
That is what he, and indeed I, object to. The use of exploration as another way to exploit, and doing so in an arrogant way. That damages exploration far more than it helps it. Sharing glitches everywhere is not always the best way. We should seek to preserve exploration, and sometimes that involves keeping powerful methods locked down.
I'm not saying that I don't like this (of course not, I'm extremely happy to read this). But it is indeed surprising

Aye, I remember people being pretty angry towards you for that, cries of "elitist" and so on. I may even have been one of them - if so, I apologise for that.
But, I've reevaluated my priorities. I totally understand why things are not always shared now. State of exploration > Posting glitches.
Some things are just too powerful to warrant sharing.

If a glitch can be used to gamebreaking ends, I rather see it not publicly stated in extreme detail. While I'm a person who's more about handholding when explaining something to others, it also provides blizzard with a very concise showcase of how the glitch works and then it's easy to fix it quickly. Things like Darkmoon Tigers, however, don't really break the game in a competitive setting, so it doesn't really matter. Methods getting fixed is part of exploring as well, even though you may not like it. Finding ways around fixes is what I consider to be a fun timesink. That differs for everyone, obviously, but it seems to go for a lot of explorers in this forum. Take for example when 5.3 hit and rocket boots would no longer work if you had a slowfall or levitate active. People searched for solutions until they found it.
Unrelated (maybe related in a very far fetched way.)

I agree, to some degree. Some things, like growth through walls, are largely harmless so it's fine to share those. And yes it may be fun to find fixes around things, but when you're given such an astoundingly powerful glitch, it's best (imo) to keep it secret as they come around so rarely. You want to be able to get the most use out of it, and yes, it's almost inevitable that it will eventually come out as not everyone agrees with this approach, but at least by keeping it secret from the start far more things will be discovered with it before it is indeed, released, and then fixed. I guess this is what you meant by "gamebreaking" ones.
People have different opinions on this, and it's fine to have one different to me. It'd be very dull if everyone thought the same way after all.
Oh and nice pic by the way. Old Sunken Temple I assume?
