Tiny naked Human in Engine of Makers - Patch 5.0.5

Not sure if this is known or been seen before. But I had never known about it. WoWhead also didnt mention it when talking about the weird device hes standing next to.
You can also walk through this weird device, not sure why.

Anyway, I was just flying around in the engine of makers and I saw this tiny little naked Human, in a stance like he's waiting to be given some animation. I thought it was neat.

Yes, he has been there since the release of Wrath of the Lich King. I saw him when I was doing some underground explorations before it got fixed. I believe these humans are place holders for something that is there or was going to be placed there at some point in time. Not exactly sure of their purpose, but they are in other areas as well. A more well known spot would be in Emerald Dream, in the part where there are statues all over the place. This is the link (Strange Emerald Dream Man) to the thread about the one in Emerald Dream. I know I saw them other places as well but can't think of the names of where I saw them (I want to say I saw one way back when at the Secret Outlands in Deadmines, as well as one on Programmer Isle, but I'm not entirely sure)

I would have to agree with you Teryaki, they must have some other meaning, they are most definitely place there on purpose. Most likely a placeholder, like you said.

I can see them being in places where we arent supposed to be, such as the places you mentioned, not sure whyd theyd put one out in the open like this.

After reading the thread you linked, it appears the man is used as a scale. So blizzard knows how big the actual player would look to the rest of the environment. However, this man looks much smaller than the man in the emerald dream thread.

Also not entirely sure if he's been there since the release of wrath. Been looking at videos and pictures dated after Wrath's release and the man is not there.

I think blizz uses this model and also one of a tauren male to tell how a player will view the environment, not only to figure out scale. The reason why they use humans and tauren are because they were the first races added to the game, and most likely are entities within their WoWEdit app that have been defined since the start of the game's development.

This. It's used for scale when creating/designing an environment, you can also find white spheres that they use for scale as well.

Yeah, this is something called humanscale, it is found outside of deepholme and in the development maps...
