[Discussion]Stormwind Vault 3.5.5

i was toying around on a private server some time ago and flew into stormwind vault which normally doesnt have a inctance portal in it, i thought.
I entered it and it said Stormwind vault and were a dungeon without mobs


What happened to this dungeon, anyone knows? I'm very interested so PLEASE share what you think or know in the comments

I've been there two years ago, when retail server was still 3.3.5. There wasn't any instance portal, so it's probably because it is a private server.

The name just changed but i believe it's the same instance as it was back then.
I'm pretty sure someone discovered a portal under stormwind a long time ago which was supposed to be the one to this stuff, i'm going to search for it tomorrow.

Yup, very old. The portal can be activated in the database of the private server. If its not, its says Transfer Aborted: Instance not found. You could run though the portal area and go under Stormwind that way. Probably was there because Blizz wanted to release another instance like Stockades, but with more powerful and dangerous creatures and humans. Just like that instance portal that was at the Canals, which actually never worked, even on private servers.

About the portal in the canals, i heard it was for guild housing (it might be what i was talking about and confused them).

The instance portal for the canals was meant for the Housing District, not a dungeon :3

Took me awhile to find it, because I didn't know the name of the canal area, but here is a video showing what I was talking about. I guess sometimes a alligator spawns there as well. Note that this area is no longer in the game as well. Video is not by me, but searched youtube for it, so credits to the guy who made the video.

I can confirm the building this portal was once in is now hollow, empty space. Back in 4.1 or 4.2 I got bored and decided to see if the portal was still there while screwing around under Stormwind, and was surprised and a bit disappointed.
