[ Wall Climbing ] 5.0.4

Hello Ownedcore! I searched and found no mention of wall climbing being changed in patch 5.0.4. However, I noticed that it is drastically easier to wall climb now. I was able to climb things that I know I don't have the skill to. I'm not too great at it so I'm not sure about the whole condition of it pre - 5.0.4 but here are a few examples of what I mean. (threw in some music so it wouldn't be dead quite :] )
btw sorry if any of you experienced wall climbers have to sit and grimace at my lack of skill :/

No worries, Koruun. That thread was posted in the Exploit forum... and now we have this nice thread in the Exploration Forum for those searching here. He only beat you to the posting by about 6 hours... I'll gladly give you +5 rep for sharing your video, just as I did with the poster in the other thread. (plus, I like your video better )

As I said over there, this is great news for me. I was never that good at wall jumping. With the other nerfs to exploration, this will help ease the pain significantly! Looking forward to more WoW exploration in patch 5.0.4!!

From what I understand, this is how wall climbing used to be, but this 'easier climbing' was killed with patch 2.4.0. Now it is back!

Blizzard has clearly done something to the code that has reverted the game back to "old walljumping"... which means the invisible ledges that we catch in order to jump have now become more plentiful, easier to catch, and easier to stay on without falling. It is very different now compared to how it was before this current patch.

Yes, this does in fact appear to be working somewhat close, if not the same, as the original wall jumping. I managed to jump up and around a few hills outside of Stormwind quite easily (eg: https://i.imgur.com/OhmQN.jpg) and it's been a few years since I've had any real practice.

It is worth noting, for people who aren't familiar with this method of exploration, that it will not work on any concave surfaces and it's all about working out the sweet spot where the apex of your jump hits the wall you're aiming towards at the 'right' angle so you stick/get wedged/whatever you want to call it.

Just check some old youtube videos and take note of the angles and where the top of their jumps are, it's not difficult to pickup.

Lord, I might have to rearrange my schedule and try to get onto WoW tonight. After watching the OP climb out of ZG I was excited... but reading this bit about BM I am overjoyed! I have spent so many hours failing the jumps to get out of that instance...

OMG. I think I died and went to heaven. This is game breaking. All those other glitches they fixed and now they unfixed this one. I am trying this asap! This opens a plethora of exploration ideas for me!

Crazy. Clearly shows just how broken they've made it. Looks like it is definitely back to pre-2.4.0 levels. Enjoy it while you can! They fixed it once so they'll fix it again, and probably soon.

Me and a friend of mine did this on one of the highest mountain outside Orgrimmar today. I am sorry that I dont have a video. But I hopes you can believe us that we didnt use mount-boost or anything. 2 lvl 1s Orcs
