[Bink Through Walls] Quel'thalas

Good evening everyone!

Today I bring you a fairly simple exploration if you are a Mage using the blink though walls method from WizardTrokair (still trying to give some rep for it, but I have to spread rep before I can give more to you )

This is a well known place that has been around since Vanilla, but has changed a bit since Cataclysm came out. There are guides that allow you to get through using other methods (like DCing at a cave to get though, etc.) but this one is quite new and easier for those who wish not to use DC macros to get there. If anyone sees something similar to this, by doing the exploration via blinking, let me know and I will delete this thread.

Here is the video. Pretty simple, you can blink past the wall anywhere you want in the area. To get past the first wall, simply land on the ground and run until you hit the second one. This is the one you want to blink though (I kinda failed on my slowfall, but thankfully didn't die!). A caution about getting back though, you want to blink though the wall once again to get back. Running at the wall may get you stuck and you will have to hearth/port back. Sorry for the annoying mount noises. I didn't want to fiddle with iMovie again or add music (laziness ftw)

I believe this Stratholme part of the video is a version of Alpha Stratholme? I remember browsing though the alpha files and seeing this exact replica of Stratholme there. Note the green instance portal, possibly to link Stratholme with Naxxramas (or what they thought they were going to do.) In Stratholme the instance, the green portal is there as well (I might go and see if I can get past it.) Beyond the portal is probably part of Naxx, though I am kinda of speculating that is what it is. You can mount pretty much everywhere in there, and all the gates work.

If you keep exploring the Stratholme area, you can see the old entrance from the service gate as well. The instance portal is still there and everything. Pretty neat imo.

I use to get there using the mount through wall on the service gate, no need to be a mage then ^^
But heh, still nice to see that blink works well here too.

Yes it's stratholme alpha (easily recognizable by the necropolis).
I think i saw why there was a green (=raid) portal there, don't remember, maybe it was in the video another explorer released using heroic leap to get there, should check that again..

I believe i did the same by going the service gate and just fly there. But since we're not able to do that so well anymore, this is a great way for mages. Thanks for sharing

Next time remove the roaring dragon or at least add some music, killed me. And I'm not sure why that would be considered "alpha" Stratholme, I remember exploring and seeing it in WotLK with a friend.

I am a new video poster so I don't know everything about posting videos. And as I said in the post, it was just a quick video and I didn't want to fiddle with iMovie to add music to it. I can add the crappy music that comes with YouTube. And the reason why I have a theory that it is "alpha" is because if you go onto the alpha version of WoW (the 2003 client) you will see that it is exactly the same layout, with the grayed out necropolis. It is not like that in the current instanced version of Stratholme

I remember the first time I went to Quel'Thalas. It was back in the beginning of BC. I was bored and asked my friend Meg if she wanted to swim around Eastern Kingdoms with me. We found a lot of pretty cool stuff doing that. Quel'Thalas was the best. Hands down. Be sure to turn on your music when you are there. If they still have it of course. Also used to have a Local Defense channel. Going to go visit it for old time's sake now that my mage can fly lol

Hey teryaki, if you want to record HQ videos of your screen on a mac instead of using wow's mac client ingame recording (which sucks, I think we all agree on that one), launch quicktime player, and then go to file -> new screen recording. Keep on the good work man, love your explorations (though the mouse clicking blink makes me cringe every time ^^)

Cool thanks for the tip nona. Being a new Mac user (PC user since the age of like 5) it is nice to know what this thing is capable of. I will try recording my next vid with Quicktime.
