This video is WICKED. The site (of course) requires me to spread before giving more +reputation to you... but spread I shall, because you deserve it. YOU MET THE CHALLENGE. Instanced Aerie Peak has now been accessed... the first time I have ever seen someone reach it. Impressive! I am, of course, still going to look for a way in for the non-Warrior... I'll let you know how my search goes.

Hey, what stopped you from jumping down at the 3:18 mark? I'm sure I would have leaped down there myself... but it looks like you made the right decision.

I've got to say that I am completely envious of Heroic Leap. As far as exploration goes, it appears to be completely OP... reminiscent of the glory days of Levitate... making the impossible explorations possible. Amazing!

I'd also like to ask a question / test for those with Heroic Leap.... I notice that when you use it to get over mountain humps, you actually no-clip through the mountains, rather than jumping over them. Has anyone tried to DC in the middle of one of these long leaps while you are still under the world? I'm thinking that Heroic Leap could possibly be used to get underneath the world, if you follow me. Could someone test this?

Again, great work Teryaki. You've done a wonderful job of getting the community's explorers to take another look at Old Hillsbrad Foothills this week, and I salute you for it!

I've tried it several times now to DC when inside a mountain while leaping through it, but when I log back in again I end up at the place I set my heroic leap, so I don't think that works.

I also tried to use heroic leap and 0.0001 sec after I used it to DC, but I end up on the place I choosed.

^^^ Thank you Synrithh. That was exactly the testing I was looking for.

+rep when the site lets me (I must spread first... looks like it is time for me to create a "need to rep when the site lets me" list...)

I've noted in my Exploration Tutorial that Heroic Leap can be "used to climb steep inclines", but perhaps I'll edit the entry to make it more clear on just how amazing this ability is. It is a seriously OP exploration tool in non-flying areas!

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! Like I said, it was probably the most enjoyable exploration I have had in quite some time. I was working at it for a few hours trying to figure out a way using Heroic Leap, and I almost gave up. Please, keep looking for other methods. The Warrior was kinda my last resort because I was getting frustrated with the rocket boots thing. I did, however, make it on the other side to the invisible wall near Ravenholdt Manor. The only thing is, there is no way to get up the mountain (without extreme walljumping, which I am not very good at since it was fixed.)

@Trokair - At the 3:18 mark, I looked down and it looked like a rather far drop, and was afraid I wasn't going to get back up and continue the video. So for the tutorial's sake, I skipped it and went on with the way I knew that worked. I will see if I can post some screenshots of what it looks like there.

About the Disconnect with Heroic Leap: Yeah that crossed my mind when I was doing these jumps. I tried closing my WoW right when I started leaping, or right when I was inside the mountain, and like Synrithh said, you just end up where you chose to leap to unfortunately.

So, I tried the brew of the month at the invisible wall on the tree. I was trying it at the second (northern) invisible wall at the tree, facing North. The bees made me run straight to the south, to the southern end of the tree... BACK THROUGH the first invisible wall.

I then had to turn the game off and come here to work... but what I'm saying is that I'm sure this Aromatic Honey Brew will work on these walls, and easily get us into Hinterlands. Looking forward to exploration tonight!

Thanks to Electropop for bringing the Brew to our attention.

Haha Trokair, I did the EXACT same thing when I heard about the brew. I tried going into Hinterlands (like you normally would pre-cata) and using the brew to get though the invisible walls, but had no luck. I really want to see if it is possible to get though the blue wall using this brew. I ran out of brews so I had to hearth back to Orgrimmar and grab myself 24 more. That is the only thing that is keeping me from traveling too far from Orgrimmar to test out the brew. I wish I had Brew of the Month Club membership on my mage, then it would be cake just porting back and forth from Orgrimmar and Dalaran. So I look forward to some exploration with this brew in Old Hillsbrad, if not by myself!

I am planning on making a video of all the invisible walls that are passable by using this brew (mainly those inside instances, like behind the portals, etc.) It will take a while, as I would have to edit all the individual videos into one big video. Anyone know if there is still that stupid 10 minute limit on uploads for Youtube? I have not uploaded a 10+ minute video before.

Have fun exploring with the brew while March is still here. I am sad that you can only carry 24 at a time, and they have a 14 day expiration time. No other item is coming to my mind that automatically self fears yourself. Thanks again Electropop for testing out the brew!

Been trying for the past 3 days to get to Aerie Peak now without heroic leap, no success.... impossible in my point of view, but I'm sure someone else will find a way one day..

I *might* be close to finding a way, but it requires Rocket Boots. I have works and stuff today, so I can probably see what else I can do later this evening.

Well, I haven't found a way into the Hinterlands... but I did go back and do some more exploration in the Old Hillsbrad Foothills.

Here in Part II of my video I show how to get into the instanced Caverns of Time that I glimpsed during the first exploration. I also show how to access a few of the caves. Enjoy!

Nice! +rep when I can rep again (once again, I must spread before giving ) I love seeing areas that are still unchanged, like the fact that Culling of Stratholme portal area does not exist in this part of Caverns of Time, since it was released in Wrath, or Instanced Thousand Needles, since it was released before it ever got flooded.

EDIT: Got Engineering to 250, so like tomorrow afternoon I should have a video up if I find a way with rocketboots. I am trying to get my Mage's engineering up so I have more to work with, rather than the priest. Mage's are just more flexible when it comes to exploring.

EDIT2: Getting closer and closer to 330. Spent around 5kg so far just getting Engineering up. Laziness few! Of course being on a dead server, there isn't much in the way of Fel Iron or Adamantite on the AH. Guess its time to head to Nagrand.

EDIT3: Got to 330, unfortunately, I have a splitting headache and I am gonna go to bed. I will do some exploration in the morning. Night!

EDIT4: Ugh, I give up! I tried the rocket boots and could not find a way up. I guess it is impossible without heroic leap.

I know many of you worked hard on this, so perhaps some of you will take some joy knowing that every class can get to the Hinterlands now with Trokair's recent find.

And all rep to Trokair for his find, of course.

Crazy that you bumped this thread Ritual... of course this is to be my first exploration video using the glitch. I'm surprised you didn't see me lurking in this thread yesterday!

I'm waiting for the right video sunlight (probably Saturday morning) to record... the night-time recording bothers me, because WoW colors are so much brighter during the day. I went last night on a trial run, took me like 5 tigers to get through the invisible wall for some reason. All three buildings over in Aerie Peak are blocked off by mountains in the doorways... but all three can be blinked into, which I will also show in the video. The blue wall looks SO COOL cutting through the entire lower Dwarven fortress!

Do you see the dwarven building in Hinterlands right there? Well, if only I could find a way to Hinterlands, I could get on top of that building and blink though the blue wall. I have tried normal wall jumping/climbing and have not found a way. I am going to make Rocket Boots Extreme Lite for my Mage again, so I know of a way to get up the mountains next to it. Maybe I can rocket boots over to a place where I can climb up the mountain. Stay tuned. I will get past the blue wall!!

EDIT: They lowered the drop rate on the Rocket Boots Extreme Lite from around 50% pre-Cata, to around 6% post-Cata. Blizz... why do you do this to me?
My mates and I have tried numerous ways to get to the Arie Peak fortress in Hinterlands but so far we have no luck :[ Wall climbing isn't my strongest attribute :[
