Just had a chat with a GM a few minutes ago. Screenshots:

If the texts comes through small, I'll give you a breakdown of the conversation.

GM: NP! Was there anything else I could assist you with?
Me: I was wondering if you could do me the honor of answering a question for me. If you'd be breaking any rules, then by all means simply tell me "I cannot answer that question", but I'd rather not get the run around.
    GM: Sure
Me: It's been rumored that there are quests in World of Warcraft that players have still not discovered. I don't mean mean quests that most players haven't done, I mean quests that NO player has done due to requiring certain interaction with NPC or requiring you
Me: to be a ghost to see the quest giver, much like the BRD key quest giver. Can you confirm this?
GM: No quest has not been completed in the game. Shadowmourne's quest line was the last line of quests that had yet to be completed, and that was finished months ago.
GM: There are currently no quests available at the moment that have not yet been attained.
Me: So it's simply rumors, then? There aren't any funny quests like the "Cluck!" quest in westfall which require me to continue running around emoting NPC's to get me to react?
Me: Sorry, to get them to react.
GM: I have been told from people hire (higher) above me that there are currently none remaining.
Me: Alright, that's good to know. I have read about some funny ominous riddles that GM's have given people, but I wasn't sure if that was the GM just joking around with them.
GM: We like to have fun with players, but none are currently available.
Me: Well, that's about all the time of yours I am allowed to take up. I appreciate your straightforwardness, and your restoring my item for me. Thank you very much, Raklerynon... you have yourself a great night.
GM: You too. Good luck and take care! :P

So, while this isn't the end-all-be-all of answers, I'd say that this is a lot more straightforward and doesn't seem like a GM simply joking with people.

I think you're just reading too into it. With what we know about data mining, it's impossible to hide things that exist from players. Data mining is kind of the bane of developers, because it has been showing players upcoming changes since the start of wow.

As it has been said many times. Data mining will give a list of quests. and yes, there are TONNES of quests that are there that arnt accessible to players. But data mining doesn't tell us where to find us those quest givers. nor does private servers. Hence the point of this thread.

and yes, there are TONNES of quests that are there that arnt accessible to players.
Proof, please. If you have any, then your claims will be justified... otherwise they are just words.

The point of this thread, friend: Is to decipher what is bullshit and what is real in regards to the information the GMs are giving players. Unfortunately for players, they want to hang on the words that GMs say. The majority of GMs that you deal with are nothing more than Customer Service Representatives with a GM tool that allows them to perform basic functions. So it's honestly to the player to decide weather or not he's been told a straight story, or if he's just being toyed with. I linked that because it's a good representation of what a GM knows and does not know: a lot of what GMs say is hearsay from other GMs. Your entire reply, on top of being poorly written doesn't actually make any sense.

Data Mining proves that there aren't any quests in the game which haven't been discovered, all they are discovering now are the Elemental Invasion and Cataclysm Quests. It is unfortunately impossible for Blizzard to hide that type of information in their files, with Data Mining giving us all of the information. Furthermore, Data Mining would give us the name of the Quest Givers, though not the location. However, since there are no quests undiscovered showing up in the data files, there are no NPC's to link them to... and no NPC's to be found. I like the idea of the quests that are hidden, but there just aren't any.

To add further information: World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> Hidden ghost quests....

You realize this thread is from 2008. The "Gorillaz and bugs, King Mosh and slime =)" is a reference to the Ravasaur Trainer quest that would not be added in the game until 2009, to get your Ravasaur Mount. Unfortunately... if you look back far enough, you will see MANY contradictions: Blizzard stating they will never add Paid Faction/Race Change into the game being one of the many.

Thought I should share the addon I use for searching through quests database and asking server for completed quests: MobMap WoW-Datenbank. Helped me crazy number of times to discover quests I haven't done or ever seen even through 5 years of playing, not to say about other features. For example Look at the Size of It! I wouldn't have ever discovered without MobMap. So enjoy.

P.S.: Professions database, drops database, and others are all actually very handy as well, taking into account you don't need to AltTab for wowhead and it eats lil to no memory.

Slick indeed. It's always good when spammers reach out to the max number of people by making themselves understood loud and clear.

This is a pretty interesting read, is there anything like it in cataclysm?

Bumping an old thread for something not entirely related..
It's about a quest that has never been completed on live servers.

With the help of the quest sharing exploit, i was able to get this quest during cataclysm : Kanrethad's Quest - Quest - World of Warcraft
Since then, i'm searching for ideas on how to complete it as both requirements are checked : "Remember your talents" was validated upon accepting the quest ( https://i.imgur.com/FIDg8is.jpg ) and "Player slains" too even though it didn't appear on the UI.

When i'm using the function "Show map" to locate the npc, it show me this : https://i.imgur.com/FzVB4qi.jpg the yellow "?" is there on the minimap and on the world map, but really there's only Caretaker Alen here. I used far sight to check right below the ground but i couldn't find anything.
Wowhead ( Kanrethad - NPC - World of Warcraft ) got a picture of him from vanilla 1.12.1 : http://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/screen...zed/248879.jpg . It looks like hinterlands or something like that to me.
I think the client can still get the old coordinates but they doesn't correspond to the right place anymore and i believe this npc was removed during cataclysm.
I've just found this while searching for the old coordinates: https://code.google.com/p/wowmodelvi...npcs.csv?r=627
    Line 4 :
    29,25275,7,Kanrethad
It's related to wowmodelviewer and i have no idea what it means so it might not be coordinates after all... If you can find the ones from vanilla, i'd love that!

Wowhead comments put him in the Strand of the ancients battleground as the invisible npc who makes the emotes :
03:13:44] [?][RAID_BOSS_EMOTE(Kanrethad)]Let the battle for the Strand of the Ancients begin!
    [03:23:44] [?][RAID_BOSS_EMOTE(Kanrethad)]Round 1 - Finished!
I went there and used far sight to see if he would be friendly to me and if i'd have the yellow "?" above his head.
With horde as defender : https://i.imgur.com/GaBPGRC.jpg
And alliance as defender : https://i.imgur.com/XtyzpiW.jpg
He is unfriendly to me so i won't have any chance to complete the quest with this one.
What's weird is that i found this screenshots from live servers in 2010 : http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a...410_215101.jpg which put him as friendly to the horde side. (source : Kanrethad, Master of death! lvl 90 in game - World of Warcraft | TM )
I don't know if the change comes from me or from MoP.

Now with patch 5.2, kanrethad made his return, there are now three versions of this npc : kanrethad - Wowhead Search
I believe the guy in SotA is the old npc from vanilla. I don't think the two newest ones would be able to complete the quest but i tried to search for him.
As i'm not a warlock, i don't have the quest for green fire so i can't see him in Shadowmoon valley nor in Black temple without the quest.

    EDIT: wowdb has better info
    - the quest with the good requirements : Kanrethad's Quest - Quests - WowDB
    - npc 20000 is the good one to complete the quest, but no info as to where he is : Kanrethad - Humanoid - NPCs - WowDB
    - npc 29 is for another quest with the category "Programmer isle". Btw, Kanrethad's quest has "Designer Island" for category
    - Kanrethad Ebonlocke - Humanoid - NPCs - WowDB this one got added in patch 5.1 but shouldn't be ingame or related to the quest..

So that leaves me with few options :
    1) The old npc from vanilla is still where it says on the map and minimap but it's far below the ground or far in the sky. I don't think it's possible as there shouldn't be any solid ground for him to stand.
Or maybe it's in another phase but i didn't do any of the new cataclysm quests in this zone.
    2) Be friendly with the one in Sota and check again if he can complete my quest. I have no idea how to do it..
    3) Get in a party with a warlock to summon the new npc in Shadowmoon valley and see what happens. But it seems to me that this npc is either an elf or an human, based on the shape on this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SBap0cTyAU&t=28m31s . That, added to the fact that it's a different npc id and that it's moving, i don't think it'll work, assuming i could see him in a party with a warlock.
    3) Use cheatengine or something like that to either change the npc id of my target or change the quest id i'm completing. But it shouldn't be possible anymore after the quest sharing exploit fix.
    4) Some kind of weird model editing ?
    5) Check eastern plaguelands while dead, i didn't try that yet..
    6) ???

Would you guys have any ideas of other ways i could try or suggestions about these ones ? Any warlock or alliance player on ownedcore got it during the exploit to re-check the previous methods?
Do you know of a macro script/addon that can display the id of the npc in SotA from a distance ?

This quest was supposed to be the early design for the deathknight, transforming your character into one instead of creating a new char.
I might have gotten you another "Quest for truth" here

    Thanks for any help !

The warlock summoned version of kanrethad in shadowmoon valley is human and you can't even target him, only see his name if you scroll over his body, so I doubt you could hand anything to him at that stage. There is also times at the start and end of the final fight of the green fire quest where he is friendly, once defeated you can even open a chat window to drain his fel energy if I remember correctly, so maybe you could hand it in there, but it's a long shot.

If I recall correctly, people were turning in a quest in Deepholm with an unfriendly NPC via Mind Control. I even think it was a quest like this... one that was removed from the game but brought back using exploits.

So perhaps this would work in SotA to make him friendly? Grab a priest (or one of those Mind Amplification Dish enchantments) and try it out! Good luck.

Aye ! i remember this one, i tried it actually but i was too late and it ended up badly https://i.imgur.com/nNNyyaY.jpg
I'm going to try that ! I just need to find a way there and a priest to come with me now ^^
Now SotAs only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete, it will be hard to reach him and try that at this speed .. Or i'll need my own battleground using an exploit but then the priest won't be able to come with me. I'll have to take my mind amplification dish helm for a ride.

I don't think i'll be able to enter the scenario as a shaman yellow1 but thank you for the info (and +2 rep for you).
