Any evidence against the existance of these 'quests' you call worthless, but silly GM riddles have value? You're being delusional and ignorant. Not trying to troll, flame, or offend, but it is extremely unlikely that these quests exist and this crazy exploration is a great waste of time.
Richard rules!
So what ?
You say, we don't trust this, let it die.
I say, it might be true, let's try to figure it out before the cataclysm. If it's really true then it's awesome, otherwise it's just a few moments wasted running on the old lands before they get destroyed.
I don't see nothing bad in trying to discover those quests.
The ruby sanctum and the lich king can wait.
Palumir is spot on. There is nothing to support the existence of these quests and plenty to support the contrary. It is up to you how you spend your time, but from a purely objective viewpoint this would be a monumental waste of it.
I wouldn't necessarily say those GM riddles hold no water at all. Dunno if you guys have already deduced as much as I didn't read through all the posts on all links nor this thread itself but just looking at a couple of the riddles from the official forums threads:
"Gorillaz and bugs, King Mosh and slime =)"
This would probably be suggesting the quest involving Linken where you eventually need to drink an elixir and die, though that I remember that quest itself wasn't in Un'goro as the hint would suggest.
"Find the key for the deepest, darkest rock."
This riddle (if you can even call it that) is obviously talking about the Shadowforge key for BRD. The deepest darkest rock? Blackrock Depths seems both deep and dark, not to mention you need to be dead to pick up the quest for the key.
As for the 3rd riddle "Seek the golden closet, on a hill to the west of a cloud shaped like a delicious potatoe chip." although I can't really make anything out of it, it's not so far fetched to think that it has some relation to a dead quest or something. From first glance I've only figured it having to do maybe with westfall but that's a complete guess due to the use of hill and west making me think of sentinel hill in westfall. But yeah, hope this helps. ^^
Underwater ?
Not everybody die underwater and search for quests there !
Interesting, read the beginning of this Answers.com - Who is the stone the builders rejected
Quote from that page: Who is the foundation of the true church? Jesus Christ made clear that he himself is that foundation. He applied to himself the prophecy of Psalm 118:22 [117:22, Dy], saying: "The stone that the builders rejected is the one that has become the chief cornerstone." (Matthew 21:42-44) The apostle Paul adds his testimony that Jesus is the "chief corner stone," writing to Christians at Ephesus: "You are fellow citizens with the saints and the domestics of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone."
Stone of Stumbling, rejected by the builders.
All i can come up with, is that you need to talk to someone in Badlands, Searing Gorge, that has relation to stones. Probably a stone-giant or something.
The Makers Terrace & Grimesilt Dig Site could be relevant.
It could also point to something like this:
1) Get a Pet Rock
2) Deliver it to someone, who's mad.
3) ????
4) Profit!
Thats the refrence to the Jessus Christ, some psalm in the Bible.
-"The stone that the builders rejected is the one that has become the chief cornerstone." psalm 118:22 [117:22, Dy]
So we're looking for a jesus ?
Like in the stormwind cathedral or booty bay statue ?
I'm thinking Westfall too, but mainly due to "Delicious Potato Chip."
Although, he may be referring to STV, which has Westfall above it, which would be it's "cloud shaped like a delicious potato chip."
I'm a tad too lazy to do this (however I might just start looking around), but if I were you I'd be checking Western Westfall, and Western STV, mainly the tops of hills there. Closet may be referring to a literal closet or something like a cave of some sort.
I hope that helps you guys =P
I've seen a NPC a long time ago, who was in the mountains between Felwood and Winterspring. A night elf. With a red red crystal if I remember. I'll try to get a screenshot
