hmm one thing i dont understand.. if i fall tru the map i fall down.. far.. fast.. yet in all your pics u seem to be the same distance under the surface?
to dude who put the maps on top of each other.. cant remember your name :P cool thing u did, i have seen many theories about all this but saw never anyone who just photoshopped the maps on top of each other.. so simple.. so smart
apart from that u didnt really have to.. if 0 0 0 in eastern kingoms is next to dalaran and 0 0 0 in kalimdor is somewhere in stonetalon then its pretty obvious UC and some place in stonetalon also has same coords.. but still cool u did![]()
Right theres one thing that kinda destroys this theory (In my oppinion) Kalimdor and Eastern kingdoms are two differnt "Instances".
Thanks to vemonou5 for my sig and avatar!
I dced in IF while on top of a brazier (don't ask me why i was there 0.o) and when i logged in i fell through IF caught a glimpse of old IF and ended up falling through Silithus. WTF? I was freakin out cuz i was at the spirit healer and was falling through the map over and over again. Yeah. I can confirm that Bliz stacks the 2 islands, probably why they don't have a loading screen when you take a boat... Kinda strange why they would do this, but i guess it would lower the amount of bytes it took to make this game. May even lower band width, but i am not an expert at the matter at all.
That loading screen is present in order to shorten the flight ^^
That's the point I was waiting for!
Looking at the screenshots I can say this much:
You wanted to go from UC to Orgrimmar and DC'd multiple times before and after- so here's how it went down:
WoW had you fly the zeppelin alright, but in one of the many disconnects you had, it must have screwed up the loading process, so you actually WERE in Kalimdor SERVERSIDE, but your client still was in the Eastern Kingdoms. That way all the Players, NPCs and Game Objects from Kalimdor were loaded and put into the right positions- only not on the right map. The reason why Hinterlands and Orgrimmar fit so well, is because the zeppelin's entry point on the Kalimdor map has the same coordinates as the position in the Hinterlands- only with the wrong continent ID.
Wall of text, sorta, but I hope I could clear things up a bit.
If there are any further questions, feel free to ask!
So no one has ever thought that a confusion between the server and client is responsible?
dude! its really quite easy to understand
the server flags u at * * * coords... and a sudden disconect either changes the coords or corrupts the data saved in blizz' HQ.
from here on, the client ie. you... interprets the data the server sends back to you, with the exact same coords, but because of the corruption or watever it is, it shows the original doodads and objects, but says on map + stuff that u are in the equiv spot on the other island
this makes most sense in my opinion.
eh.
Alright, I've drawn a picture again.
Here's what should have happened:
And here's what happened because of DCs:

Cool infos
I can confirm this theory as well. I remember I was playing on Toxic WoW (for 2 weeks until I couldn't put up with it anymore) and the boat from ratchet glitched. I was booted offline, and when I sined back on I was in the water near durotar. I swam back to ratchet and ran to northern barrens.
..and i had game objects above me and mobs from The Hinterlands were falling from the sky in front of me. I got to Ashenvale and there were mobs from the Plaguelands.
100% confirmed IMO
Does this also prove String theory? lol

Ok so its just a server/client **** up...Now lets see if there is a way to do this on purpose. Lets see if this little exploit can take us somewhere cool. maybe we can get to GM island another way? I might be testing this out on a pvt server
I hate it when people mention +Rep in their signatures...oh wait...fail
I got a other thing for you guys to solve. Who is ontop ? EK or kalimdor ? I meen lets say kalimdor is ontop and EK is under, What happends when I fall trough EK ? Will I end up in kalimdor ? That must prove that they AINT ontop of eatch other ?
I just think its a bit strange how some ppl are in kalimdor and fall to EK and some are in EK and fall to kalimdor, still you are trying to prove this method ? im lost.
The exact same thing happened to me in Org, ended up in the exact same place that you did. That means it's consistent with what overlaps where.
