Hey there! So before I go any more in detail (with what little detail I have), I'm not entirely sure why this happens and am currently in the process of perfecting figuring out how to replicate this exploit. Naturally, I will make updates as I do, as it seems to be very finicky.
As of this most recent patch this Tuesday, Filled Festive Mug has been acting very strangely - on occasion, it has been swapping positions from the third-most slot of my last bag and the second-most slow of my first bag. When this happens, any item that's in the spot (and subsequent items) are scooted over to the left. However, more interestingly yet is that sometimes it would appear in this way and swap places with an item in my bank, seemingly at random. The first item it did this with was a Blue Dinner Suit, to which Dovah noted their similar item IDs, but then it did it with An Exotic Cookbook, which has a fairly different item ID.
This generally would happen sometime after leaving a Battleground, logging out and logging in. The rate it does this is not 1:1 and it seems to choose an item from random in the bank to swap.
While the practical side of this sort of thing may seem rather slim to none, it did make me wonder if such a bug could be used with other conjured items and if it would allow remote-bank access if the method were figured out more fine. What if we were to be able to go to The Eye and pick up Kael'Thas' Netherstrand Longbow, withdraw it from the bank outside the raid and use it in the real world?
I figure the Exploit section has been a wee bit quiet, so I wanted to at least share this small tidbit to get the creative juices flowin' again. Let me know what you think, if you've any hair-brained ideas or any educated guesses as to why this is happening or how to manipulate it!

ownedcore exploits forum is dead, because its more strictly monitored by blizzard than their own forums.
To get your creative juices flowing: First check wowhead comments on that specific item.
Deep down you will find a comment from 2010:
"If you grabbed a ton of these and logged out to have them disappear at that time, they will randomly appear each time you empty one. For example, I stocked a bunch of these in my bank where I used to keep my trinkets. Now when I get an empty, delete it, log out and log back in, one of my trinkets will be in my bag and in its spot in the bank will be a brand new filled festive mug. I've emptied about 5 2010 mugs so far. Your results may vary."
Sounds like very much about what you have experienced. It it also helpful to get to know a lot about item mechanics. Mechanics rarely change much, so even with a very unspecific ownedcore search, you can bring up relevant results for your current exploit, even if they are a few years old.
In this case, part of the exploit seems to be the item duration, so you may search OC for item duration and it comes up with: Accelerating duration items
This could help you speed up your method. Your final goal should be to figure out the mechanic, under what circumstances which items gets swapped out of bank etc. Nothing is random.
On a side note, I have never used this item so I dont know its effects, just wanted to give you a heads up how to get started on your own. Have a nice day and good luck
I've noticed that the sites been getting less traffic than it used to. Makes me pretty sad. That's fascinating to hear that about that glitch the person's reporting on though, especially considering it's still in the game seven years from then. That's a very massively helpful tidbit to hear of - thanks a ton! <3 I'll have to try it out and see the results. \o/
