Stormheim "Grapple Point"
Hi,
It's not a huge exploit
, but it will save you much time!

If you double/spam right-click it, you will skip the 3-4 sec wait time.
It will instantly hook the grapple point.

not an exploit at all, working as intended

Why do we have to wait 3-4sec then?

I'd definitely call it an exploit, albeit very minor (but it was labeled as such). It's definitely not an intended feature consider how bizarre the animation looks.
What's supposed to happen:
- You shoot grapple
- Grapple catches the hook
- Grapple device pulls you to it
What this exploit does:
- You shoot grapple
- You fly with the grapple until both you and the grapple reach the hook

For those calling this an exploit, This is not one. It's called animation canceling and has been in all of the videogames since the dawn of time.

And animation canceling is an exploit. Not every exploit is some gamebreaking thing. It's a mechanic not intended by the devs which is the very definition of an exploit.

And animation canceling is an exploit.
Since when? Just because you think something's unintended it's not necessarily is.
I, for example, think this is quite the opposite and it's pretty much intended:
Part of people read through quest text, love RP and/or like animations too, so they can watch the game as a whole. Meanwhile, another part of people would like to skip all the story stuff and skip whatever decoration elements they can – so the devs included an option to do so for their pleasure too.
This is the same option as the "hidden" escape popup where you can skip other ingame cinematics but at grapple we don't have a popup since it's just a tiny animation flick.
Do you think the popup button to skip wow cinematics is also a minor exploit?

And just because you think it is intended doesn't make it so. See, that goes both ways, the only difference being that your side of the argument can be used to call any exploit "intended".
But onto my standpoint: Escape cancels your current action. It backs you out of interfaces, de-selects targets, and cancels channels. This is the way it's always worked. In fact, in the past when certain animation cancels were discovered, especially the combat ones, they were hotfixed/patched out. Hell, do you not remember the Demon Hunter animation canceling on fel Rush and Vengeful retreat? That never even made it out of beta.
So lets compare, shall we? You say it's intended simply because you think it is. I say it's not intended because I don't think it is, Blizzard actively hotfixing animation canceling in the past, and the fact that animation canceling has never been officially supported by Blizzard.

Are you being serious? I can't tell right now. Are you really comparing animation canceling to a feature that the devs went out of their way to add? That's a massive stretch.
The popup to skip isn't something that can be seen as "oh, we didn't notice that". It's very clearly a feature.

Logically, it doesn't make sense that pressing escape to cancel a cast skips the cast and finishes the grapple action. Pressing escape should cancel the cast and leave you not grappled, like how pressing escape after casting a mount will not mount you.

I think it is impossible to really know either way whether something like this is an exploit, so people just give it the benefit of the doubt.
Judging from the experiences of people who have tried to talk to GM's about it, Blizzard can't decide either.
Either way the OP is marginal but useful, and I like to encourage useful things.
