12,000g per hour - Legion Beta

Hi,

I've been playing the WOW Legion Beta and stumbled across the Infernal Flaskataur, Esq. PTR's Official Dispenser of Consumables and Love Advice

He is located on the street that leads to the main gate of Stormwind and I assume he appears in Orgrimmar as well.

As his name suggests, he "sells" consumables. In fact some of them he gives away for free but is happy to buy them back for gold. This means you can obtain a free consumable then sell it back to him for 100% profit.

The most profitable consumable is the Leytorrent Potion which is free to buy but sells for 10g a stack of 20.

I used the Chimpeon key sender/auto clicker to automatically buy a stack then sell it. I configured Chimpeon to purchase a stack every 2 seconds then immediately sell it. This means, approximately every 3 seconds I make 10g. The math: 100g per minute, 12,000g per hour, 288,000g per 24 hours.

Of course it's the Beta and it will be gone when Legion is launched or before, but if you want to buy one of the overpriced items on the AH, this is your chance.

In legion beta you can literally just have about 100k on your main on real wow, copy it over to the beta, send to another beta toon. Delete the main again and copy over again, most people got max gold instantly from doing this. Good observation though..

Good idea!! My game sub had expired so no access to my existing characters. Had to start with a very poor level 100 character so buying from and selling to the NPC was a handy way for me to get some gold Cheers.

Or you can pick up any gathering profession and vrt hundreds of rhousand, bordering to millions per hour. Pick up an actual crafting profession either that and you can easily have yourself 20-40 MILLION gold per hour.

The NPC won't be in Legion. I guess he is there in Legion Beta so players have easy and cheap access to flasks, potions and enchants. Would be nice if there was a live NPC that bought back items for more than they were sold for

Serious question because I don't know the answer. What good is gold in beta? Can you buy WoW tokens with it? Buy BOA items (mounts, pets etc) that would transfer over to your live account?

Gold in beta is only good for beta! I checked the beta AH yesterday and discovered lots of high priced gear. I wanted to buy some but only had about 1000g so I "discovered" and used the "exploit" I documented Seems like there are better ways of accumulating gold in beta though!

it may be only me but I miss the point of this topic.

Since they made character copy (heaps-of-gold-copy) available in Beta quite long ago, everyone copied their millionsgold character already and the median price of all AH stuff went up from several hundred-thousands to several millions, you can put up a stack of shit for 9 mil gold if you don't have access to your live characters, and they will buy it anyway since nobody cares gold anymore. They wanted to lift gold issues out of the way so they made everyone ultra-millionaire. They focus on other parts of the beta for now. It is pretty much intended and there's nothing to fix about it.

Every beta PTR works the same way. So it's not a beta exploit, nor a guide or even a tip. It doesn't fit in the general section either.

I feel sorry though, that you threw an hour of your lifespan out of the window for 12k beta gold.

Thanks for your input tho. I never knew that's how WOW Beta PTRs worked in respect of gold... I've never played the Beta before. And also, I let my subscription lapse on my account so didn't have access to the "millionsgold character". I just wanted to buy some gear off the AH, and this is an alternative way to reap some gold to do so.
