How to troll trade chat and link people's names

I just got a 3hr ban for saying greetings {g1} in trade twice in 30 mins. blizz must have an insta ban on {g1}

I typed it in raid chats about 10 times in total now and no ban so far. Never typed into trade though.

It lists character name and realm if from another realm. Not sure how others see it if character name is not from their realm. I am assuming its static, so everyone sees it the way you see it.

Only people who are in a group see names after all. Others without a group just see [] .

typing g1 outputs everyone in group one, doesn't it? So this will output several people in your raid group, and no the person reading it.

So only g1 wrks. Built a simple LUA function to test other letters; none worked. Posting this to save you the time if you're looking to test stuffs

Nice. I only tried a few other letters but different numbers do work, g1 through g8.

Tried this one a little while ago again, it looks like it has been fixed. the only output in chat i get is the [] bracket symbol

lol that means it's still working. It's outputting that for you since you're the one posting it AND/OR you're not in a group. Join a group, and then use it in /say, read the default chat tab and it will parse correctly.
