Frostbolt for all classes!

Instructions.

1 Go to the cracking plains in frostfire ridge.
2. Stand in the area where the guys in ice blocks are.
3. Get the debuff "oru'kais frost aura".
4. Enter bg, arena or use other port.



The debuff should now stay on you. The debuff part of it lowers your haste by 25% but you
also get an 80% proc chance on hit in combat of a "frosty bolt" which does 500 damage and reduces the speed
of the target by 30%. This makes kiting ludicrously easy for ranged classes to a gamebreaking extent if used
intelligently.

Looks and sounds ****ing cool too.

EDIT: works for ally as well as Horde, but for some reason the debuff doesn't show up till after you port.

I went to try it on my alliance however it seems i dont get any buff standing there. nice find though!

Just tried it with my ally mage and had the same experience. Forgot about it and went to Uldum, weirdly after about five minutes I noticed the debuff had magically appeared. So it seems that it DOES work for alliance, but the debuff does not display while standing in the cracking plains, only after you port.

Confirmed working in open world and elsewhere. Just port to your garrison or wherever instead of a bg.

Apparently this really rocks at low level because the frosty bolt damage, which is only a small dps boost at max level, doesn't scale down. So you are one or two-shotting everything in 10-19.

are you frigging kidding me^^ trying it out right now

Tried out areal buffs in Ashran swamp. Had arena join open, flew into ashran, could not grab the buff in time, got kicked, zoned to warspear/ashran entrance/exit and had the buff/debuff (+50% dmg dealt and done) which was glued to my char for around 20sec and then disappeared. I tried it again and attempt to carry it over to arenas, no debuff in there.

Did you had any lag? Did you use any other technique combined with just porting into arena/garrison?

I can confirm that this is working for alliance characters as well. I had to run into the area on foot instead of flying in to receive the debuff.

About 10-19, I'm going on secondhand reports. At this stage I can't associate with other players without seriously endangering them by association (I'm on a final ban) so I can't get a warlock port for a lowbie toon, you'll have to test that one yourselves.

That would have been a good idea....

My debuff works in ashran. Most other similar debuffs do not work. The sprite ward thread below suggests strongly this is a systemic problem though, just a question of hunting for stuff.

u can one and two shot everything with heirloom gear from 10-19 even without the buff
