Persisting through relogs on Steamwheedle Cartel US, no luck on Moon Guard US. Tabard was 2g 25s on SWC's character and I'm exalted with a guild were the only differences I noticed.

Not purposely being ignorant - rather wanting to understand ... remind me why this is "good / outstanding / 5stars worthy" ? Whats up with the tabard?

Blood Knight tabard is (supposed to be) limited only to blood elf paladins who are strictly horde. With the use of this guide you can get it on a non-blood elf character as along as they are paladins (alliance or not). It's unique look, rareity (since its only supposed to be for blood elf hordies, and color scheme is ideal for those who want to stand out from others and good for a lot of different transmog combinations.

Just so no one else wastes their Item Restorations, it doesn't work with these. I deleted a couple and tried to restore them to see if the restored ones might stick, but as soon as you pick them up from the mail, they're Guild Tabards.
EDIT: Contacted a GM. Got her to restore some tabards, even she even sent me some without being restored, just regular mail, reverted to Guild Tabards every time no matter what we tried. My theory is that it's got something to do with faction transfers. Once I logged on, I briefly saw the Blood Knight tabard on me, like on the character screen - but then it turned white to guild. Some sort of code that wipes your tabards if you're not a belf paladin to make sure faction swaps don't let it through, since my character did faction swap ally > horde > ally a year ago.

GREAT NEWS! I GOT THE TABARD TO PERSIST THROUGH RELOGS ON A SERVER IT WASN'T BEFORE!
I DC'd hard in an LFR group. I logged back in, and I was dead on the floor - but the tabard was still there! I've relogged in and out a few times, and it's sticking! Try replicating what I did, see if it helps anyone they can't get it to stick on!

Hang on, what? I've never had any issue with mine vanishing after a relog; I thought the typical fix for this stuff was to put it in the bank, as you do with the filled festive mugs?

No, for some people it will turn into a Guild Tabard on logout. I -think- this is for people who used to be Horde, did the Blood Elf version of the quest, and then xferred to Alliance because those are the only characters I have the issue with. I've actually spoken to several GM's about it (telling them Blood Knight tabards are purchaseable is a normal thing for Alliance ever since WoD), and they can't figure out a fix, but it is what it is.
