Showing developer's quests in your log.

Hello members of ownedcore.

Today I have for you a special exploit I figured out while screwing around with Cheat engine 6.3, this exploit allows for you to see any quest in your quest log that you like, in the video I demonstrate with Clayton's Quest: Extreme. There are many limitations to this glitch, and it's almost completely clientside. First off, I have yet to find a way to share these quests, if there is a way, it's probably fairly difficult, and will take someone a bit more clever than me to figure it out. You can link these quests in chat, see them in your log, and track them if you'd like.

Below is a list of instructions on how to do this exploit -
1. Open cheat engine and world of warcraft.
2. Have only 1 quest in your quest log (You might be able to do it with more than 1, I have yet to try.)
3. Look on wowhead and find the ID for the quest, you'll find it in the top adress bar, it'll be 4 or 5 numbers. Feel free to use the same quest I showed in the video. Clayton's quest is 11402.
4. Type in the ID for the quest you have on Cheat engine as your first scan, this will pop up a big list for you.
5. Scroll down and look for all the green named values, and bring them to the bar at the bottom.
6. Change the value of all of them to the ID of the desired quest.

Now in the video, I don't change the value of 1 of the greens, and that's because after bringing it down it changed itself, which told me that it isn't the value of something on the quest log, it's the value of something else in the game.



I believe there could be more to this glitch, who knows. You tell me, ownedcore community. You tell me.

I'm not sure about the latest version of Cheat Engine but iirc Warden has detected Cheat Engine in the past so it's quite risky.

You can get banned from every "Third Party Tool" Software, so use it at your own risk.

Can you actually do/complete the quest, or because it's client-side, is that impossible?

Personally I think it's just client sided and kinda useless unless someone can amaze us on how this could unlock a quest like the apple quest out in SW/Elwynn Forest and getting mass rep that leveled guild in a matter of hours...

I was doing this on my 576 item level rogue, and have been doing it for weeks with no issues.

With the way this glitch currently is, no. You're basically taking the ID of the quest you had before, say "Test your Strength" and changing it to think you have "Clayton's quest: Extreme". It's like having an apple, and saying it's a banana. It looks like an apple, it is an apple, but you think it's a banana.

Well that's a bit of a dumb question to be completely honest, while at base level there's not much you can do but change your quests to say different things, that's not exactly what I was going for, I was seeing if someone could find anything out with this, that's all. And maybe someone will find a way to make it believe it's serverside. Only time will tell.

This is not the same thing as the quest share exploit, I haven't found a way to share these quests, i'm hoping someone else will find a way.

If you modify a sensitive piece of memory, it is possible to trigger an instant-ban, for how long I do not know. I assume permanent is possible.

Nah, I did the same thing on 5 different servers, ran around a bit on them, even talked to people, never got a ban.

I assume what you did is now fixed, here's what I did to test it -
I first found the value that is assigned to my main hand weapon slot, it was 2092 for a Worn dagger. After an attempt to change it to anything else, wow-64 decided to change the value back to the worn dagger, so the game knew what I was trying to do and stopped it. Okay, that's fine. I set whatever caused it to change the value back to a nop code which made it do nothing when I change the value, so I changed the value of my main hand slot again, game crashed.

Do tell how you did it though, buddy.
