thanks realy nicly typed
No, he's just flamebait. There are so many holes in his arguments, it's not even funny (he even lacks a basic understanding of the Character Naming Policy/TOS).
Note: It's very detailed, and there are tons of ways to have your name changed (by reporting yourself, or have someone else report it.) The most offensive ones, ofcourse, can be changed easily.
Even his previous posts are a dead give away. Take: GMs "are not allowed to restore a character if another exists of the opposite faction" for example.
This has actually been done many times when an entire Horde account is deleted for example, the user creates an Alliance Character, then requests a full account restore 6 months later. All characters will remain intact, they will have both Alliance and Horde (accidentally ofcourse), and they won't have the ability to create any new characters unless they delete all characters of the same faction.
Look at it this way, if this person were truly a GM, would he sound so unsure of himself?
all servers in the same battlegroup are on the same RAC regardless of time zone? Yeah ok... have you ever tried pinging different servers in the same battlegroups in different time zones? Magically i live in EST and EST servers I get < 100 ping, CST i get 150-200, and PST i get 250-300 ping... hrm... coincidence? Why the hell would an "ex-GM" be trolling through a public forum on how to exploit wow, if you can't figure out more things with the aid of your "internal knowledge and experience" then you're full of fail either way.
Very well written, well-organized, and just in general a helpful/good thread... wish there were more of these type of threads these days instead of the rampant number of little kids that seem to be at a level lower than script kiddies in both grammar and intelligence
nice.. +rep
I have always asked them if I could "COPY" my character not transfer, they said no. I guess this is a yes. Heh, nice +rep.
btw, speaking of server transfering. I want round trip air fare.
I sound unsure of myself? Wow, now I know you're just lying for rep. Let's pick apart your stupidity:
Tell you what. You make a character named Kaiser. Petition and try to have it changed, and screencap the GM conversation, as well as the screen you get when you log in and are forced to name change. If you are so much better versed than me, and I'm obviously incorrect, you should have NO problem proving me wrong. Try even naming yourself Gokuu, and see if they change it. No really, I expect you'll be back soon. No, he's just flamebait. Wow, learn to read. I was referring to a PvP server. Oh wait, I must be wrong. Okay, prove it! Make a character of both factions on a PvP server. Or, try making a character, deleting it, making a character of the opposite faction, and attempt to have the previous character restored. I'm sure you'll be back with evidence that you accomplished this soon as well.Even his previous posts are a dead give away. Take: GMs "are not allowed to restore a character if another exists of the opposite faction" for example.
If you had any actual knowledge of internal GM procedure, you'd know that they don't do full account restores. They don't just hit a button and everything on the account is magically restored to a previous time. If you want your stuff restored, they have to do it character by character, item by item.
Let's try a little quiz, since you apparently know more about being a GM than I do:
1) What's the name of the email and PFR program the GM's use?
2) What is the internal name for an account restoration?
3) What is the name of the notation program the GM's use in conjunction with GM Tool?
4) When Warden flags an account for suspicious activity, under what category does it place the account note?
5) How many strikes, and what type, does an account receive for an obscene or vulgar word? How many for an obscene or vulgar name?
That's just a few that anyone with real internal knowledge would know off the top of their head. I noticed you also totally avoided acknowledging me pointing out the relationship between RACs and battlegroups, probably because you still have no clue what I'm talking about.
GG.

You're full of crap with the ping times. Realms on the same RAC are in the same physical location.
In fact, here is a link to the excel file with the realm list by rac and location geographically (obviously it's several months out of date...what can I say, they don't exactly send out updates):
RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting
Also, what exploits do you think a normal GM would actually be privy to? Do you really think they actually give a large degree of internal access to normal GMs? The development staff and the QA staff might actually know about some of the game's bugs that can be exploited, but regular GMs only have access to your most basic account information, and a chat client with which to help you, as well as an in-game avatar for specific issues that require it, like being stuck.
At best, a normal GM just knows tricks for getting people in trouble by exploiting the internal policies. Ex - when someone is mad at you, start sending them tells saying you love them, or something along those lines (NOT crude). They're virtually guaranteed to curse back at you, giving you an easy petition on them. It's mostly stuff like that, that a normal GM knows. Any bugs I was made aware of as a GM have long since been closed up, so what good would a list of old bugs do me now?
At any rate, I really need not bother anyway I suppose. Everyone can believe what they wish and I don't give 2 shits either way.

Best guide I have even read, I won't try it now but it is definitely +rep worthy
I WAS referring to a PvP server. Hence why I said to delete all characters of one faction, create a character of a new faction, then request a full account restore. This has been done thousands of times and is common knowledge - check Google and Exploit Forum posts. Proof that you aren't who you say you are.
Awww crap.. I'm feeding the troll aren't I?
"Rather than supplying positive or practical messages (or constructive knowledge) to the benefit of a public forum, the troll's main goal is to typically arouse anger, and frustration amongst the forums' participants and will write whatever it takes to achieve this end.
One popular trolling strategy is the practice of 'Winning By Losing'. While the victim is trying to put forward solid and convincing facts to prove his position, the troll's only goal is to infuriate it's prey. Provoking this anger was the troll's one and only goal from the very beginning." (From Wiki)
Don't Feed the Troll's!
sweet dude
good guide +rep
nice dude, it actually works
Great Guide.
Would this work for level 70's?
I'm wondering if it would work with just an account transfer, possibly not but who knows.
Also if someone has gotten this to work and could post a screenshot, which shows the 2 characters on different servers with close time/dates, that oulwd be nice.
