I've done this ever since shadowstep came out it has nothing to do with patch 2.2. you can also do this from the buildings on either side of the south ramp in IF.

the coolest moment of my rogues pvp career was, when some horde with low hp saw me sprinting at him. so he flew off a cliff edge a good distance away and hovered there. i continued to sprint toward the edge jumped off and shadowstep/ambushed his ass, sadly i plummeted to my death but he died too so it was worth it!

o and this one time i made a party of all rogues and we'd encircle some unsuspecting horde floating nearby and all stealth/shadowstep from our mounts and kill him.. goodtimes. btw parachute cloaks are WIN! never leave the ground without it.
