if you link an item you've never seen, your character should still be logged in for 20 secs (same as if you disconnect), yes?

Ah yes Alt+F4 the famous way of quickly leaving online games when pissed or just trying to get off fast. Theres a difference from using Alt+F4 on a game such as counter strike/warcraft 3 than an mmo, such as WoW/Runescape (yea yea runescape blows).

Anyways what happens in an game like counter strike is that when you Alt+F4 or F10 you immediatly disconnect with a small lag spike, where the server doesnt recieve your info so people are like WTF mate I blew his brains out and your still standing there. Then the server realizes what you did and disconnects you. This is about a few seconds, like 3-7.

Now pull this off in WoW and the server go's: Whoa, whoa what the hell just happened? Did this guy just disconnect or did he lag? Well its confused so your still in there, even though your now on your desktop looking for that dirty website you bookedmarked. The server then protects (or at least trys to) you by making you invunerable. Now in the past with other mmo's when you pulled this crap off you'd be on for like 10mins then it would realize that no ones there but durring that time some monster aggroed you and killed you. So when you log back in your at your spawn point/ghost world/ect.

Then on top of that (IDK if wow does this) it turns off key componets that are sending info from the client side to the server side and its trying to manage alot so it could careless if you just picked up that epic sword that only comes out in the seasons on GM island. So all in all your screwed because it got lost in the transfer process, but WoW protects most of this stuff but theres those little tib bits left out.

GUYs the MOST easiest way, of getting a LOG OUT ONLY, not exiting game or anything.. is just to type /camp .. .

Explotion is the manupulation of something or someone, he is manipulating atlas loot to disconect him from WoW, therefore it's pretty much an exploit

Piece of shit. Srsly, don't pretend to be someone else like that and give them a bad name.

The reason it disconnects you sometimes is because it is querying the server for the information about the item, which can and probably will disconnect you if the item hasn't existed / been seen on the server before. It was part of their efforts to stop people from changing item names and colours.

However, back to the main point of this. It does not instantly log you out, it disconnects you. The major difference is that if you wait the 20 seconds and log out, your character leaves the game world and thus cannot be killed, targeted etc. If you are disconnected, the game gives you a minute or so to try and log back in - and your character STAYS in the game world, and can thus be targeted, attacked etc. Using this way to DC will still allow things to kill you, its just harder for players to do so cause they have to try and compensate for your jerky motion.

If you don't believe me, aggro a high level mob and then ALT+F4, use AtlasLoot, /camp, or anything else to DC. Wait a minute and log in, and you'll be dead.

It stops people like raiders from going "Oh shit its a wipe" and then logging off to save a repair bill.

iv tried this on the echo isles server, it works with like BT epix and stuff since its like impossible unless ur completely awesomeley geared, just mouse over the twin blades of azzinoth it works for me

still exit game is THE BEST far none for it, it saves you, as soon as you go, then you can just get back on.
