Banned for funny exploit
Ok, so I got banned. I'm not crying, i just think what I did was quite funny.
So I have a 2 accounts, one to RAF the other is my main account. I joined a BG queue as a level 40 Warrior, when the queue popped I quickly granted myself 40 levels using my RAF account and entered a level 40 BG as a level 80 with full heirlooms. Needless to say I just went around one-shotting people to the amusement of my team mates.
It was all just a bit of fun. I know I shouldn't have done it but I was curious as to whether it would work. Even the GM admitted it was one of the more humorous issues he has had to deal with.
Do you think I deserved to be banned for 3 days for somthing like this?
I mean it's not as bad as blatent BG cheating like the old mass summon bug where you could map bug yourself in Eye of the storm to summon an entire 40 man raid to your BG or the Dalaran Sewer map bug that let you cast spells at your opponents without being able to be hit back.
Update: I have been unbanned.
Me: I think a 3 day ban is unjustified for somthing I did in the name of fun.
Customer Support: You purposely exploited a feature in the game to give yourself an unfair advantage over others.
Me: No, I purposely exploited a feature to have fun in a video game
Customer Support. This issue is resolved, have a nice day etc etc.
A few hours later I got an email from another GM saying after considering my last argument they have decided to unban my account AND extend my RAF link an extra day for the 1 day I lost on it. Told me not to do it again and that I should report all bugs immediately in future or risk a ban.
Seems this issue is quite serious for a higher ranking GM to intervene and unban me after the other GM told me I wouldn't get unbanned before the 3 days.
