Hey Ownedcore!
Been leechin' for a while here so might as well contribute a little bit. Full credit for the original exploit goes to hqvrrsc4. Anyway, let's get to it.
Blizzard was "kind" enough to recently enable CRZ on Darkmoon Island without notifying playerbase in advance(intended action, I'm sure), which made it pain in the ass to get Darkmoon Dominator achievement. Now, I am myself on a dead realm but I neglected the achievement for a long time, because I knew that I can do it whenever I felt to without breaking a sweat. I never expected Blizz to stealth-enable CRZ there... sneaky bastards.
I was already thinking that I will have to wait till next expansion to get the achiev but at this moment I remembered about the disable-CRZ exploit posted here some months ago that was 95% fixed... except DeepholmFor some reason they couldn't remove all mobs/objects from Deepholm on home realms like they did with every other zone in the world so instead you are getting disconnected after around 30 - 60 seconds - the very reason why you can still obtain Aeonaxx with this trick. Now, which other zone in WoW is also an instanced zone (like Deepholm)? That's right - Darkmoon Island
Just use the method posted here (Perfectly Disable CRZ(no special tools needed)) and enjoy your free trinket. For better execution I strongly suggest the following steps:
1. Position yourself outside of the Darkmoon arena.
2. Queue for a Random Battleground.
3. Once you get the queue enter Darkmoon arena and run to the middle where the chest should normally be.
4. Accept the queue.
5. ALT-F4 as soon as you load into the BG.
6. Block outbound/inbound CRZ IP (you should have proper firewall rules prepared earlier - as explained in the original thread).
7. Wait 5 minutes.
8. Log back into the game.
9. Loot the chest ASAP (there might be a small lag at first but I assure you it will be there).
10. Rinse and repeat 12 times.
11. Enjoy watching those poor bastards bleeding themselves out in the arena :P
I suggest porting to a BG from inside the arena because I noticed that if I port from outside the arena (because people were fighting inside) I sometimes would be kicked from the server before being able to reach the chest and loot the trinket. If there are some PvP nabs that keep "dueling" in the arena or taunting random people to go inside and gank them, just wait till they are gone. I have looted the chest as late as 56 minutes after spawn time, which leads me to believe that it despawns exactly 1 hour after the zone-wide announcement. This gives you quite a lot of time to snatch it
And before people start the usual "Doesn't work on Windows X". I checked on Windows 7 and Windows 8, both in Deepholm and Darkmoon Island and the trick still works. If you get DC'd really quickly after loading screen it means that your game is loading slowly(I believe the DC timer starts during the last portion of the loading screen). What helped me with Aeonaxx was to disable ALL addons (I scouted the exact location with another char first) and installing the game on SSD, so if you are having same problems here, just disable ALL addons and your game should load much faster, gaining you more time to loot the chest.
If someone thinks that I should have posted in the original thread instead of creating a new one... I strongly believe this deserves its own topic(and attention) because Darkmoon Faire is currently active and people want to get their achiev ASAP, and the old topic is mostly dead. Seeing as for some reason they haven't 100% fixed Deepholm, I strongly believe they won't be able to fix this one as well... That being said... get it while you can!
EDIT 1: Yes, you can still use this trick to get Aeonaxx in Deepholm. I recommend scouting the exact position with another char first not to incur unnecessary Deserter debuff on the char you feel confident killing the dragon with. Also, disable ALL addons before going for the kill (but make sure your bars/abilities aren't screwed up without them). As I stated earlier in this post - I observed that the "DC timer" starts during the last portion of the loading screen so naturally you will have more time if the game loads faster. Having the game on SSD and running 64-bit mode with 4+ gigs of RAM helps too.
EDIT 2: Despite avoiding competition for the chest while using this trick, you still have to wait 3 hours between each consecutive spawn. Disabling CRZ doesn't affect chest spawn rates unfortunately :P
