Did you got a second/third Secret of the Empire on re kills? i realy doubt that it wont flag the Tracking Quest with true

ive requeued over 10 times now and got 4 secrets so yes you can farm them

I wouldn't call it easy... every group I join needs about 5 tries to kill Durumu... they're all so bad >.<

Try it against a boss like Jin'rokh, where the majority of kills are one-shots.

This might work for the secrets of the empire item but it doesn't work for loot. When I did it I didn't get saved to the boss but I also didn't get any loot, which means you have to actually attack the boss to become eligible for loot. I guess that means the quest items must be exempt from this rule.

Does not work for rep with Shado-Pan Assault. Still only gives rep once per boss per week.

So what bosses are easy to do this on? Most groups will kick you if you die before pull.

Ran that script after dying in the durumu pools BEFORE the pull. Came back with a 1 even though I didn't get any loot

That picture doesn't prove anything.
Don't know if it still works, but if you would leave during LFR bosses you would still get loot (if you won it) back in early MoP LFR. It also wouldn't show you locked to the boss until after you re-logged, making it look like you got loot while not getting locked.
So no, that picture proves absolutely nothing, besides the fact that you got an item and what appears to be a graphical bug.

I'm not saying it doesn't work, I'm just stating that more proof would be nice.

And you havent killed Durumu that Id in Normal or Heroic either? then the Server also counts this LFR Kill and u most likly wont get an other Secrets this Id from Durumu

(In my opionen) The tracking for a Kill (which can reward you 1 Secret per Boss on LFR or Normal or Heroic once a week) is different from the LFR Special Loot (most likly to prevent that people get LFR Loot which are afk). So it could happend that you get a Secret with this Method but you cant repeat it (because the Tracking Quest is already flagged) and you would have gotten the Secret also when you didnt Die before the Pull. I beleave you that you got a Secret the first Time, but i dont beleave you that you got 4 on your rekills, pm your armory feed when you dont troll.

No, our prot pala solo tanks durumu, so I sat out the normal kill.

I didn't get a secret for durumu, neither does the LFR say I have recieved loot. I did however get one from Tortos where I just stood there and died on top platform, but the LFR thing says I am not saved to him either. The macro returns a 1 however.
