Shifty is a god. I kinda miss playing on Darkspear cause I realize I won't be able to PvP against him anymore :[
the video im talking about is Insane Warrior Tricks 2, made by Swifty, a male NE warrior. its basically a pvp video with some cool tricks he shows at the end. bad thing about it is that you have to pay to watch it :yuck:. you can still watch his first vid he made, Insane Warrior Tricks, for free. lucky for me i watched IWT 2 for free![]()
thx im not a warrior but i hate hunters(unless they dont need on my damn mage staves and know how to play their characters)![]()
This trick does work, I've used it alot in pvp.
When you are trapped the pet is automatically put on passive, However the effects of taunt and Challenging shout over-ride this.
Taunt: 'Taunts the target to attack you, but has no effect if the target is already attacking you.' So using this method is a bit touch and go as you need to use it on the point of being frozen and the pet turning passive. Use it to early and it will do nothing, use it too late and....well you wont be able to use it at all.
Chalenging Shout: 'Forces all nearby enemies to attack you for 6 sec.' This method doesn't require a specific stance to use it, although it does have a large cooldown (10 mins). In a duel situation its best to use it as soon as you've charged the hunter. The effect Forces the pet to attack you for 6sec, so in this time period it wont leave you alone, even if you've been trapped so it will therefore hit you out of the trap effect.
Nooooo Now Im Almost Useless
lawl
Challenging shout always works 100%. Also you can just use spellreflect and walk over the trap, if you have spellreflect on and you walk over the trap, you'll be immune.
Also yes this is common knowledge.
You guys fail to realize that if a pet is on passive taunting it will do nothing to it. I had a mob attack my pet on passive and it just there like an idiot while the mob was killing it.
Unless this exploits the game mechanics which makes the pet go from passive to aggressive, this will never work. Any Hunter who really knows how to play with his pet usually has it on passive to begin with.
Heres the problem.. mobs don't taunt you. Taunt and challenging shout FORCES all non-player mobs to attack you. Passive or not. You had a mob attack your pet. It's initial aggro kept it on the pet. Just like you walking infront of an agressive mob and not doing anything about it.
what kind of hunter uses freezing trap against warrior?
frost trap ftw
But a Hunter pet is not a NPC. It is controlled by me. I play a Hunter and when I get home today I will try this with a Warrior buddy of mine. I will have him in Battle Stance to begin then I will freeze him and have him switch to Defense and try to taunt my pet and we will see what happens. Hell I may even make a fraps of it.
You can't change stance when you're ni a freezing trap tho you can while you're charging =] have to do it fast.
just tested this patch 2.1.3 taunting a hunters pet doesnt make it attack you in passive stance, only in aggresive/defensive
