No Duration on any item.

Some Items don't continue to loose duration unless you are logged on. That probably explained what you saw.

xkillerb is correct, i cant see this exploit working to be honest and the risk is huge, like the "name change" exploit who wants to risk deleting their character for such a low reward.

My advice, don't try this unless your prepared to lose your character permanently
