I've recently come across an odd sort of de-sync/offline mode exploit that de-syncs the XYZ co-ords of your character on the client and the character server side. You can run around without dying like offline mode, but you are still able to cast most things. Other people cannot see you move, and nearby NPCs will only spawn up to a certain distance - if you run outside of this range, you can still see other players. No, nothing interesting happens to the items so I don't believe there is anything here that can cause duping etc., and it also seems relatively low-risk. Thanks to RAoV for helping me figure out some stuff!
This exploit requires:
- A level 12 guild with the Guild Chest perk
- Friendly reputation with the guild you are in
- A dungeon portal
- The following macro - this is the same macro that is used for a lot of other exploits such as the recent Guild Bank de-sync:
/script for s=1,80 do _G[format("GuildBankColumn%dButton%d", ceil(s / 14), s % 14 + 1)]:Click("LeftButton") _G[format("GuildBankColumn%dButton%d", random(1,7), random(1,14))]:Click("LeftButton") end
What you have to do is relatively easy:
1. Set the Guild Chest close to the entrance of the dungeon portal, so that when you run into the portal you don't got out of range of the chest.
2. Open the bank (tab does not matter, it must have some items in however).
3. Press the macro about twice per second while running towards the portal; this should lag you considerably. Stop running when you reach the point at which you would normally be ported in.
4. Spam the macro about 3 or 4 times per second until you get ported into the instance - this should take roughly 20 to 30 seconds, possibly sooner. If you disconnect while doing this then you were probably spamming it a bit too much. Be careful, if you aren't in range of the portal and you disconnect then you'll get the "A character with this name already exists" error when logging back in, but this is usually fixed by logging on another character on the same server.
5. When you get ported in, if it worked properly - It works about 80% of the time for me - then you should experience the same effects as in the video below. Test this by running away from the entrance and using something like a Darkmoon Tiger - it should spawn just in front of the entrance, not where you are on the screen. Also, if your non-combat pet isn't following you, it worked. All mobs and NPCs should also give an "out of range" error.
This should last for as long as you are in the instance. You'll have to logout or use something that forces you to move (such as jumping on a Darkmoon Tiger or using Elixir of Dream Vision - they will disconnect you) to get out of this state, as the instance portal to exit will not work. If it didn't work, take a look at the video to see a working attempt, then just try it again or PM me. There's still probably a lot of stuff to discover while in this state but what I can think of it being used for primarily is exploring. Good luck playing around with it!
