Not really an exploit, but it is definitely valid, and it's certainly more than just the connection. It's not just gates, though, it's jumping and uneven terrain in general. Most maps are downhill out the gate, and jumping on your mount as you're running downhill is slightly faster than running normally because you don't have to follow the slight contours of the 3D surface.

Spamming jump in this game is, in general, a very good idea. It's useful in pvp because of the whole getting-stunned-in-midair-while-moving thing, and it's useful for the aforementioned speed boosts on uneven terrain.

There is actually some truth to this. if your air-stalled on the gate at the right time time you can gain a small edge , but what seems like a large lead on your screen is actually only a few feet on others. Tested in vent with multiple friends. Most of us who have been pvping for years already knew about this but i appreciate the share. Don't believe it works. Test it for yourself on vent. You have to be air stalled on the gate when the alliance or horde symbol fades, meaning jump into the gate right before it opens and you'll gain a few feet lead because of the landing. However on your screen latency makes it look to be 10-12ft lead which it is not. So really both parties are right in the arguement.
